We have had several monitors, as I have my own daycare. The Sony monitors are awesome, we have 2. I have 1 for my almost 5 yr old and have had no problems with it. We have another for my 2 1/2 year old and have no problems with it either. I use them every day and love the fact that there is no static and they don't cut out like some of the other monitors I've used. Overall, a great product and I would buy this again if we had another child.

Truly the best monitor! We have had it and used it for over a year and would not want anything else. It is reliable and safe and I want to tell all my friends to get this one. There is not static noise so it is quite until our son makes a noise. We can recharge it and carry it with us remotly throughout the house, that is one of the best things! It has a setting also where you can have it on all the time and even then there is not heavy static like with other monitors. We bought two of them for his grandparents house for visits also. Please don't waste your time on other ones--parent to parent this is the best one, you won't be disappointed!

At times this monitor is excellent - the reception is good and the battery lasts a while. We had no problems in a 2 level home but in a 2 bedroom condo (one level), there is quite a bit of static and random clicking sounds from the receiver end. We have tried various channels but the sounds continue. They are not consistent either so sometimes it is great and other times it can be annoying.

Overall, probably a decent product, but not the best. We've always experienced a TON of interference so we can't have it anywhere near phones, alarms/clock radios, etc. And, now, two years in, it's on its last limbs -- often not turning on properly, going in and out of signal, battery life is low often.

This monitor worked well for the first 6 months. I especially liked the voice detection feature which keeps the monitor quiet until baby noises are heard, even with the white noise of a fan in the background. However, the other day it starting buzzing after only 6 months of us. We tried switching signals but the thing still has a continuous annoying buzz. I liked it while it worked, but ultimately it did not work for very long.

It kept beeping out of range. My house is NOT that big, lots of static and NOISY. Was really hoping it was going to be a good monitor and it wasnt ..and the 27 channels what a pain in the rear!

The first few times I used the monitor, it worked fine. Then, it started with the static. After about ten or so uses, now it has very sharp, loud static-y noises ALL night long. We get woken up constantly from the monitor's static. It is horrible. Do NOT buy this monitor! I definitely wouldn't have if I had known how bad it was.

I like this monitor because it is simple to use and there is no interference or static. The nursery is upstairs and I can take the monitor out in the back yard or next door to my neighbors house and still get signal. It picks up the lightest sounds. I can hear the clock ticking in her room. The only thing that worries me is that the receiver has to be plugged in and there is a long cord. It will need to be placed outside and away from the crib when my daughter is old enough to reach but not too big of a deal.

The first two months were pretty good with the monitor. The only problem that we had was the range. My husband couldn't work in our garage while our daughter slept up stairs.
After those two months were up, the thing turned crazy. It makes horrible sounds, such as static, and wakes us up at least once a night. It is horrible. We are tempted to buy another brand but are scared that it will be just as horrible as this one. I mean HORRIBLE!

From the first day using this monitor, it has had terrible static. It's so loud at night in our room that it's hard to sleep. I don't recommend purchasing this one. With our first baby, we had a Graco monitor which was as clear as a bell. The only issue with that one was that the battery life didn't last long and we had to leave it on the cradle, so it was constantly recharging. But that worked for us because we only really use it at night. We stopped using it when the battery just gave out, but I plan to either purchase another of the Graco's or find a replacement battery for our old one.
