I loved the idea of this bottle as I could use it over and over and that it is BPA free.
The shape is perfect as you can defrost just one when your baby doesn't feed that much and more than one as he increases his intake. The shape is also great as you can just slide the frozen milk into regular bottles or use the Medela nipple right on it.
What other reviewers say about writing the date right on it is right. Pencil worked good for me, or you can always use a pice of blue tape.
The big problem with it as that it gave my milk such a chemical plastic smell! I soaked, washed, air out and sterilized before using and it did not make a difference. The same did not happen with the Medela milk storage bags. So I know that the problem is something with the material of this bottle. I had to throw away over 30 ounces of milk because of that! Very disappointed as I wished this would have worked.

These 2.5 ml containers are perfect for pumping and extremely easy to use and read. They are sturdy and easy to store and transport. They connect easily to the breast shields too.

Love these little bottles. They were great to use when I first started pumping at home but you will soon pump more than the 2.7oz limit so they don't last very long. You will need to upgrade to the 5oz bottle before the baby is 6 weeks old. I would say buy a few, but not too many.

Very convenient, Connects directly to my pump, great for freezing and storing, easily sterilized in our sterilizer. Perfect size for quick defrosting. I have about thirty of these stocked up and am now using the medela freezer bags! These are much better for measuring and for realistic expectations for breastmilk production those tough first weeks.

These little tubes make things extremely easy! They hook up to the Medela pumps if you want to pump directly in, the lids are leak-proof, and there's enough space so when you freeze them they don't explode! Make sure you only fill to the 2.5 oz line. My set even came with one microwave sanitizing bag, which will be awesome to try once I go back to work, its good for 20 microwaves. I would even think about buying another set so that I could store even more. For even more convenience the standard sized nipples fit on the little tubes so you can go from defrost to feeding without having to dirty another bottle.

Ok, milk smells like 'chemicals' or 'soapy' due to extra lipase in breast milk. To rid your milk of this issue, prior to freezing scald your milk. Just google lipase if you smell anything odd in thawed milk, you can find great instructions online. Also bags may be convenient, but studies suggest not all nutrients are protected. Having these have helped I simply pump, scald, freeze. No change of container. Also, these are small for a reason, it's the recommended amount for freezing breast milk. Medela folks are no dummies!

I got a set of these bottles when I was preparing for our daughter. I exclusively breastfeed and use a medela freestyle pump. A word of advice to any moms planning to pump and store milk...I used these for a bit and then found much better things. First, you will often pump more then 2.5 oz at a time after you have been pumping for a while. Your pump usually comes with some 5 oz bottles - I got a few more of those, and use them to pump into. For storage, no matter what amounts you plan to store (after a newborn, you will likely want to store more then 2.5 oz at a time since the baby will take 4-8 oz bottles) I found the storage bags work much better...and I use the Lanisoh ones that hold 6 oz instead of the Medela storage bags that hold only 4. In addition, I found that if you store much milk, the bottles take up a lot of room. Plus, if you have a baby that needs special bottles, you cannot put a nipple on and feed with this...my baby needs something with anti colic function to eat from.
