I was one of the first to buy this product. I was worried about that, but after 2-3 weeks of use. I think I will keep it. I had a ton of specific questions when I bought this that no one could answer because it was so new. So here is what I discovered. First off, this is my second Summer video monitor to buy. I previously had the first color monitor from them and loved it. But decided to buy a new one when the parts to the old one where not sold anymore. Ok, on to the new product. Here are the questions I had when buying it: 1) When you are in the split screen mode which camera can you talk/listen too? Does it talk to both cameras at the same time? Or just one? Answer: When you are in the split screen mode it highlights the camera that you can talk/listen to. And that is the only room you can talk/listen to. If you want to change cameras WHILE in split screen mode, it has a toggle button to switch the highlight to the camera you want (without having to exit out of any screen). 2) How is the resolution of the screen? Answer: I thought that the resolution on the screen was not as sharp as my first version Summer's color monitor. I think that is because this screen is HUGE so it spreads out the pixels, so the image isn't as sharp. However, the image is plenty sharp enough that you can see if the baby's eyes are open or closed, or it the pacifier is or isn't in the baby's mouth. So, that is still pretty sharp! In light and dark! 3) How is the sound? Answer: Once again, I LOVED the volume of my first Summer's Monitor. This version... Not so much! In fact, currently, I would say this is the feature I dislike the MOST! I don't have sensitive ears and can sleep through noise... but this is pretty loud on the lowest setting. I wish they would have set the volume lower for the first setting! We play a sound machine in baby's rooms and I can TOTALLY hear the noise and have no ability to turn the volume down any lower. (Summer's Infant- please fix this volume issue!). 4) How does the switch camera feature work? Answer: It toggles between the rooms at about 8 seconds and I love it, but like I said in the previous question/answer, the volume is an issue! So, I have to get the volume of the sounds machines just right (to match) so when the monitor toggle to the next room, the volume difference can startle you and sounds uneven. Plus, when you are a new mom, any noise change can wake you. So, we ended up just leaving the monitor on split screen view with the talking/listen highlight on the infant's room and not our toddler's room. Which kinda defeats the purpose of wanting to hear BOTH cameras. But, our toddlers room is right next to us, so if she wakes and cries, we can hear her naturally. 5) How does the adjustment of the camera work? Answer: I don't like how I can't just barely tap the "move" button and the camera just move a tad. No matter how quick you tap the "move" button, it moves the same amount of distance. So, it is hard to get it JUST were you want it. Especially when using the magnify! They need to make more precise control of the movements. But this is not a deal breaker. Other than that, I am happy with the purchase. I hope the company addresses the issues I have pointed out! Hope that help everyone make an informed decision.

Summer Infant Dual View Pan/Tilt/Zoom Digital Color Video Monitor
Screen quality is very poor and in zoom mode it's absolutely dreadful. It is hard to tell if she has a pacifier in or not, or if her eyes are open or closed. Battery life is less than 1 hour, seriously in 30 minutes it drops to 40%. The range is terrible, hard to move around the house without losing signal. We have a single screen / camera version from Summer from 2 years ago that is excellent. They seem to have relied on their good name and cheaped out on this option. I strongly recommend not purchasing this model. If all of Summer's new product are like this one; look elsewhere.

Comments about Summer Infant Dual View Digital Video Baby Monitor with 2 Cameras - 28980:

I was super excited to get this product for our second child. I wanted to be able to watch both children in separate rooms at once from one console. This monitor works great if you watch it from the children's rooms but the second we walked down the hall with the parent console part of the monitor, it would lose signal. Our house is only 1,700 square feet total and the monitor lost signal as soon as you walked down the hall from the kids rooms. Maybe our monitor was defective but I didn't buy it again to find out! Picture was great though when it did keep a signal.

    Summer Infant Dual View Monitor

Comments about Summer Infant Dual View Digital Video Baby Monitor with 2 Cameras - 28980:

I LOVE this monitor! The screen is HUGE and even with 2 cameras in view simultaneously, I can see both of my kids no problem. Other people complained that the volume was too loud even on the lowest setting, but they must have corrected that issue because I think it is perfect. I would highly recommend this monitor to anyone who wants the convenience of being able to see both of your children at the same time! A Summer Infant!

Love this monitor! Everything is exceptional except the chirping noise it makes when switching from room to room. It is very sleep disturbing. Unless you are a good deep sleeper I would think this noise may keep you up. I've been thinking about returning it because of this.

      Great video quality

      Poor signal strength.

Ended up returning because the signal would go out. It did not work in my backyard. In my house the signal would go out when the camera was on scan mode. So when it switched between cameras it would beep which was very annoying at night. I really liked the split screen display and the volume level was great.

I exchanged it for the motorola monitor that comes with two cameras. Has similar features. So far the signal strength is better. Volume level is lower.

ive spent quit a bit of money on monitors the past few years because i was never satisfied. I looked at this one for awhile and wished I purchased a long time ago! Love being able to watch both kids at the same time when they're in different rooms. I also like the option of buying additional cameras. Can't really think of anything negative to say about this product.

This is a little spendy, but my other monitor just wasn't cutting it for me. The picture quality on this is amazing and the tilt option is wonderful to have. Just wish the battery would stay charged a little longer. It always needs to be plugged in. So far, it has been a GREAT purchase! Highly suggest getting one.
