It was tough to find the right infant carrier and I bought this product because I trust the Chicco brand -- I have their carseat, stroller, play yard & plan to get their high chair. When I first tried this carrier, I thought it was a great buy but now that I've had it for a few days, I have a few critiques:

#1: It is somewhat difficult to get your baby into and especially out -- the mesh creates cling to your baby so it can be difficult to pull baby straight up & out -- impossible to do while baby is asleep.

#2: Although it says for 7.5 lb to 25 lbs, my 5 week old at 10lbs looked like she had been swallowed in it -- I had to fold the top down in order to see her.

#3: Long usage will cause some discomfort on your shoulders & back. I went for a 2 mile walk to the grocery store and on the way back, I could definitely start to feel the pressure on my shoulders & mid-back. I have used this for a maximum of 2 hours and after some stretching, I felt fine but who knows what will happen as my baby grows & gets heavier...

#4: The adjustable straps on the side are difficult to adjust, especially when you have the baby in your way!

#5: The cuddle pocket feature is useless -- there's so much padding that there's no way your baby can feel your touch... I would rather this be an extra pocket for me to store something small, like a cellphone or keys.

#6: Attached snap-on bib is a good idea but the bib they provide you with is really ugly and BRIGHT WHITE -- I would rather this be a universal snap-on for all bibs.

Chicco has a more expensive deluxe version of this carrier.
It's almost twice as expensive but it has these additional features:
*Opens from front
*Waist belt and lumbar support
*Quick fixing attachment points and multiple easy adjustments
Seems like it would solve a lot of the above problems I mentioned but at twice the price, I hesitate.

Just bad

Comments about Chicco UltraSoft Frontal Infant Carrier - Black:

After having on for only a few minutes I had terrible back pain. Not being able to adjust properly leaves mom/dad in pain and baby flopping forward away from check. Very sad I spent the money on this carrier.

No support

Comments about Chicco UltraSoft Frontal Infant Carrier - Black:

Don't waste your money. Their is no waste strap, and the straps across the shoulders are only adjustable around your body not over your shoulders, so it leaves you with your baby dangling forward inches from your chest. Causes back and neck pain. Not for anyone who is thin, the straps are only for fat people they don't get tight enough. Not for tall people, I'm 5'10" and the straps don't adjust for my height. Horrible product.

Poor Design

Comments about Chicco UltraSoft Frontal Infant Carrier - Black:

I bought this product while I was pregnant and first used this when my child was about two months old. It seemed okay when my baby was facing me and weighed about 12 pounds. When my baby was able to be turned around, it became more difficulty to use. First, my baby hangs too far away from my body which causes him to sway easily. I usually have to place one arm around his belly while trying to do things. And second, the straps put a lot of strain on my neck. I usually can only wear it for about twenty minutes. It's a shame I can't use this product more because my baby seems to really enjoy being carried this way but I'm exhausted after trying to keep him from swaying and doing everything one-handed. I might as well just carry him. Plus it puts too much strain on my body and I'm in pretty good shape. My baby is 5 months old and I'm working out several times a week and running 5 miles at a time. Unfortunately I would not recommend this product if your looking for a carrier you can use while doing things which require some moving or bending. Some pros are: it's easy to get the baby in and out; the material seems very durable but soft; and my baby seems comfortable in it.

Comments about Chicco UltraSoft Frontal Infant Carrier - Black:

This carrier is very uncomfortable. It doesn't snuggle the baby and my husband and I have to hold our baby so she doesn't go forward. When you put the baby facing out, the front part of the carrier unfolds easily. The weight is not distributed evenly on your back. When I included this carrier in my baby registry I didn't think twice about it bc I trusted Chicco brand, but now I am gonna have to buy a carrier from another brand.

      Horrible

Comments about Chicco UltraSoft Frontal Infant Carrier - Black:

I thought I was going to love this carrier but I was terribly wrong. The fabric was super soft for baby but the carrier was actually painful to wear. I'm a thinner build and no matter how I adjusted the straps they dug horribly into my back. I couldn't wear this carrier for more than a few minutes without becoming really uncomfortable. This carrier definitely needs more padding in the straps and waist support. I ended up buying an Ergobaby.

      Very uncomfortable!

      By Savannah

      from Georgia

Comments about Chicco UltraSoft Frontal Infant Carrier - Black:

This carrier is very uncomfortable for both myself and my baby. Putting it on is fairly easy, and although I can get baby in by myself, it takes some maneuvering. I'm 5ft 4 and this carrier causes the baby to sit uncomfortably low and it is not possible to adjust that positioning.

Also, it does not "hug" the baby to my body and if I want him to snuggle on my chest I have to hold him in that position. This is extremely inconvenient when doing chores such as washing dishes or simply bending over because I need one hand to support him and stop him leaning too far back. It would have been better if the clips that provide head-support were adjustable according to how close or far you want your baby's head from your chest.

Most importantly, getting a sleeping baby in and out of the carrier is not easy and requires so much fussing and coaxing that I am sure to wake him each time; it's a little bit easier if someone is there to help. Finally, since all the baby's weight is carried on the shoulders, may back and shoulders ached after 10minutes of use.

Only plus for me is that it's lightweight and has the drool bib.

        Missing waist band support

        By cmom

        from Undisclosed

Comments about Chicco UltraSoft Frontal Infant Carrier - Black:

Works for its intended purpose, however I couldn't wear it for more than an hour or so at a time due to the weight distribution. All of the baby's weight pulls directly on your shoulders. It would be a lot more comfortable with an additional load bearing waist strap.
