Comments about Spin Master 1001130 Air Hogs - Gyroblade - Black:
I hope manufacturer continues to produce this one. It's got everything; gyro stability, a red spot-like light, a metal reinforced body. My local store finally got some in, so I got it. You might consider getting two, so you can rotate one in and out while the other is recharging. I'm 28, and I have flown a couple others, and while I will say this is likely for a slightly advanced user, it is also the most forgiving. I've tried AppCopter, but with the screen of the iPod, it was difficult to fly/control. The only other one I've flown is the Series 3CH-777 Tactical Indoor Helicopter. The AirBlade is the most forgiving and most durable. I tell you, flying these is addictive. I only own one other R/C vehicle, and it's the New Bright PT Cruiser from like, 10 years ago. Basically, flying outside can confuse the Infra Red signals, and if that doesn't happen, the wind might interfere. Also, I find that when taking off, I've had to full throttle, and then throttle back. Otherwise, slowly increasing may result in it tipping over. I think this might be because it works more like a real helicopter does with a tail rotor to counter the torque. Lastly, I've found that it's about 40 minutes to get a full charge, and about 10 minutes of actual in the air continuous flight time. But I just got it yesterday, so battery performance may improve. To me, I don't need to squirt water, or shoot missiles from a Heli, or other gimmicks. Also, it looks great. One tip, whether novice or expert, I would go with a 6-way directional copter.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
