I received this car seat courtesy of Safety 1st. This review and the opinions below are my own.

My son is just 5 months old and I began my research for a quality convertible seat soon after his birth. We still use his infant carrier, and will continue to use it for several more months, but we took this car seat for a test run. Because my son is a very small 5 month old, I was worried about his comfort and ability to fit into such a large seat. He was clearly comfortable (as he stayed happy and quiet throughout our drive), the straps were easily adjustable, and I feel like he is very safe in the car seat (obviously my #1 priority). The seat both looks and feels sturdy, protective, and safe. This is our first convertible car sear, so I do not have too much to compare it to, but the only downside is it seems a bit bulky to me. We have an SUV and so it fits just fine rear-facing, but it does require the front passenger seat to be moved forward quite a bit. Finally, this is a seat that my son can grow with for years to come - a huge plus.

All in all we are very happy with the seat - safe, secure, and comfortable!

I wanted this seat because I had the Onboard Air 35 when baby was little and LOVED IT!! I wanted to keep the "squishy" padding because that is what I loved so much about the Onboard Air. When I saw this carseat I thought it would be perfect but with no reviews (because it is the new model) I was a little skeptical.

She is 1 year old, 30 inches and 26 pounds (a big girl), she fits great in it and seems to love it! The problem is that I want to keep her rear facing until she is 2 and it is nearly IMPOSSIBLE to get her in her carseat while rear facing...there is just not enough room between the carseat and back of seat in van to squeeze her through. I have reclined seat a little more and that has helped some but still will only be able to keep her rear facing for a month or so longer; may have to get another seat. This is not an issue with the car it is due to the carseat coming up around child so high (which is what I originally wanted)!

Great carseat if you are looking for forward facing!

Comments about Safety 1st Advance SE 65 Air+ Convertible Car Seat - Newbury:

The car seat is a great seat for our lo, she is less fussy now that she can see out of the back window better. The only downfall is we have her in the middle seat and the headrest on the seat is so big that I can not see out of the rear view mirror.

Comments about Safety 1st Advance SE 65 Air+ Convertible Car Seat - Newbury:

I purchased it since the car seat I own before this one is not a convertible, so when I travel more than an hour if the baby felt asleep, his neck laid down; he might feel sore when waking up or pain on it due the bad position. This convertible has many recline positions, is so comfortable for my baby.

product seems very sturdy and supportive. Has great cushion/padding. Full body protection. We have a Subaru Crosstrek and had to push the front seat up in order to get the car seat to recline a bit so it is big! I have had some small issues with the strap/harness not being tight enough and a slight struggle to pull the end strap (seems like it gets jammed somewhere but havent figure out where).

Comments about Safety 1st Advance SE 65 Air+ Convertible Car Seat - Newbury:

We read a couple reviews and saw people liked this car seat and it seemed nice and padded for the baby. We had been using a Chico carrier attached to a base and decided to move up in size for our 11 month old. Got it home and put the baby in it to adjust to his size, and he seemed like he liked it. Then I took it out to the car to attach it first trying the LATCH system. I was putting the seat in a Hyundai Santa Fe with the seat rear facing. The seat is so bulky I had to move the front seat all the way up just so it would fit in the proper recline position. I then attached the latches to the latch system and tightened. The only problem was you can only tighten the latch belt from one side and the opposite side has way too much slack in it which can't be tightened because of the way they have it connected to the seat. This caused the seat to be tight on one side but very loose on the other. So I then tried using the seat belt to secure the car seat. Unfortunately, I had the same issue where I tightened as much as I could, and the same side was very loose. I read the instructions multiple times and even did internet searches to make sure I wasn't doing anything wrong. Looking further into it, I started finding people who were have similar issues. The LATCH hooks are also a pain to attach and remove as compared to the chico seat base we have. Taking this piece back to the store and ordering a Britax.

Great quality and very safe/secure design. However much to bulky to fit our lives. Too heavy to make many car switches as we do. Too wide for another carseat to sit beside in our Escape.

I received this car seat courtesy of Safety 1st. This review and the opinions below are my own.
I use the product in my 2014 Honda Pilot EXL for my two-year-old son. The seat is in the middle of the second row and there is an infant carseat in the row as well. This is the primary vehicle that my son rides in.
The seat is great because my son has a lot of room and does not feel crowded. The built-in cup holder is helpful and he thinks it's "fun". The safety ratings and side impact Air Protection makes me feel that my son is in one of the safest carseats out there.
The only drawback is that the seat is large but if you have the room, then there's no problem. In addition, the tightening belt between his legs can be difficult to pull, but I may have just not gotten the hang of it yet, as we've only had the carseat in the car for a few days.

First-time parents, and this is such a convenient car seat. Great for infants and toddlers.

Easy to install, and with just a push of a button you can make the harness straps longer and to tighten then you pull one strap at the bottom, which makes it so easy if you're on the go.

Very sturdy, feels and looks safe with all the side impact protection padding. Most of all the baby is comfortable. This seat is also easy to recline if needed and still feels secure and sturdy.

I would definitely recommend this to a friend or family member.
