My daughter started using these at 17 months. It only took her a few minutes to figure out how to hold them and write with them. She has gotten even better at using them as time goes. She LOVES coloring and drawing with them. We have the crayons, paints, markers, and bathtub crayons as well and she loves them all! I would definietly recommend them. The only problem I see is that they do bleed through the paper but I think any marker in the hands of a child would do that.

Horrible! Tossed em after one use! I second everything that everyone else has said on here...clunky, requires more coordination than a 2 year old can offer, bleeds through paper like a sieve, and is difficult to remove from both hard surfaces and fabric. And to top it all off, they're pretty pricy for some messy markers! Definitely will NOT recommend this one!

These are not good for small kids. I am sure that my 10, 11, and 12 year old woudl do great with them. My 16 month old and 3 other little ones in my family all have the same problem with all the "begining's" writting tools. The kids are holding a ball and can't grasp the concept of turning it to the exact position that they need to be at to write with. By the time the kids are old enough to master this they should be able to write with anything that they are given. I have no idea who crayola tested these on to say that they are great for toddlers. They can hold them they just can't draw with them.

These are the worst things i have ever seen for kids...my daughter has it all over her self and it is not washable...it wont come off my wall either...i would never buy this....

The idea is really good, but since they are like weeble woobles the ink is the first place the kids grab them, so they are messy and the kids don't understand that the marker has to be turned over. I threw mine out!

I'd have to agree with the other reviews and feel relieved that it wasn't just my son having a hard time with them. He does much better with the normal markers and chunky crayons. I don't know who Crayola included in their test group to decide these best fit a toddler's hands and abilities but they certainly didn't observe anyone like my son.

The crayons built similarly to these are a bit easier for him to manipulate as the point juts out from the head of the wobbler. But the marker tips blend too well with the overall surface, causing confusion and frustration. He doesn't see a result for the effort, as Crayola states he should. And he's a toddler; determined to keep me from intervening.

The item was messy for my 18-month old. I commented on the Crayola website, which I don't usually do... but they called within a few days and sent me a coupon for the price I paid to get something new. They kept me as a customer just for that!

These are extremely messy! My 2 year old grips his hands around them and if the ink side is in the palm of his hands it goes everywhere making a huge mess. Beware of carpet and furniture when using these. They are not worth it. It looked cute, but they are horrible!

I HATE THIS ITEM! I bought these for my 2 year old son for christmas and I honestly keep them hidden on top of the fridge so he cant see them! It makes more of a mess than its worth. They are hard to hold on to and while he's trying to figure out how to hold them he gets the marker all over his hands and clothes and shoes. He honestly uses regular markers and crayons better than he used these. I was very disappointed, def not as neat and easy as they make it look!
