We have used this for over a year now and I feel it has it's pros and it's cons. We bought ours when they were first launched so I can only hope mamas and papas has fixed (or at least are trying to fix) some of the issues.

Pros:
Easy handling
Big seat for toddlers
Easy fold/unfold (most of the time)
Fairly lightweight
Big underseat basket
Big canopy

Cons: the black is NOT BLACK (can you tell I'm annoyed by this) the seat is black but the canopy is an obvious brownish grey color.

Straps not suitable for newborn. I contacted mamas and papas when we first bought this stroller because the straps were way too loose to contain my then 8 month old son (even though they were installed correctly and on the tightest setting) and they basically re-stated that the armadillo was suitable for newborns and that I must doing something wrong. Thanks for basically calling me an idiot. Clearly I'm not the only idiot because I've read the same complaint from other parents about the straps being too loose/long.

The seat doesn't sit upright. The recline on the seat is great. It goes almost all the way flat however, it doesn't come anywhere near an upright position. It's constantly slightly reclined. It's basically aligned with the pushbar as it shows in all the pictures. Maybe some kids like this. My son hates it.

The front and rear wheels sometimes get stuck together when you unfold he stroller. Ive heard other people says he same so I know it's not just my particular stroller. Sometimes it releases and opens all the way if I shake it. Sometimes I have to fold it and unfold it again.

The back wheels stick 90% of the time after the brake is disengaged and I have to jiggle the stroller back and forth a few times to get the wheels rolling. Also, as someone who wears flip flops all the time, I don't understand why they call it a "flip flop friendly brake".

Like I said, it's got some good things going for it but it definitely has some design/mechanical downfalls. If I could go back to when we were shopping for a stroller, I would not buy this one again.

Glad I didn't pay full price

Comments about Mamas and Papas Armadillo Stroller- Black Liquorice:

I'm glad I got a great deal on this stroller during the great trade in because I would've been extremely upset . The foot part won't adjust, the wheels seem to be wonky, the canopy snaps look like they were melted . I just cannot deal ! I called about replacing it and even getting a similar at toys r us but ... Almost a year later I'm still waiting . There are pros though . Strong frame for a small stroller . Lightweight and a small fold .

Comments about Mamas and Papas Armadillo Stroller- Black Liquorice:

I highly recommend this stroller! It's super easy to use, lightweight, and is an absolute dream to push around. I love the gender neutral dark grey color, how easily it folds up, and is compact enough that it hardly takes up any space in the trunk of my car (it even fits behind my carseat). The hood/canopy of the Armadillo is by far the best on the market and protects the baby from the sun at all angles. The canopy even has a nice peekaboo window that uses a quiet magnet unlike most that uses loud velcro. We had a Chicco Cortina Travelsystem, which I absolutely hated because it was big and bulky and didn't even push nicely, and got rid of that stroller for this Armadillo. I seriously cannot recommend this stroller enough. I've gone from a babywearing everywhere mama to a stroller loving mama all thanks to this stroller.

Comments about Mamas and Papas Armadillo Stroller- Black Liquorice:

When I first saw the stroller online I felt in love with it. after using the stroller for about 1 month now, I'm sad to say I'm not happy. The wheels get stuck when the stroller is closed. once I try to open the front wheel is stuck to the back wheel and is very difficult to open, specially if you're alone with the stroller and the baby. I wish I can return the stroller and try a different style. also, the stroller is not "lightweight" I'm a 5'10 inches tall woman and I find this stroller to be super heavy when is closed. NOT HAPPY!!! I want a different stroller...but don't want to pay almost $300 again!!!!

      not suitable for small infants

      By BethesdaMD

      from rockville, MD

Comments about Mamas and Papas Armadillo Stroller- Black Liquorice:

I bought this stroller because it was one of the few that was advertised as suitable for a newborn without needing a carseat or additional accessories. Unfortunately the straps are so big that I can lift my 9lb (4kg) baby in and out of the harness without undoing it. This stroller is completely unusable for a newborn unless a separate insert is purchased (and even then, the straps are still large). If I had to do it all over again I would have spent the extra money and bought one of the uppababy systems.

It is charcoal I would have liked to know that before buying. And also you have to buy your own cup holder. It comes with a rain cover so no hassle to buy one but it is a little bit of a struggle to out on there other , also wished the handle bar would be able to just but it doesn't .
