The MACK Granite Rear Loading Garbage Truck by BRUDER is fully functional and meets all the requirements of modern garbage management. This one-person operated truck includes: fully functional loading arm, which can be pulled out and tilted to empty the small colored trash cans (included) or the grey dumpster (not included), both colored trash cans can be opened, two worm extruders transport the garbage to the interior loading container which can be emptied by tilting the tailgate; the tailgate will lock in place when opened. Truck dimensions: 26 x 11.5 x 7.75 and weighs approximately 6lbs.

This was just purchased for our almost four year old son. He is very much into trash trucks and has several examples from Tonka, which I will use as a baseline comparison for this review. As we opened the [...] box, the MACK Trash Truck looks impressive. Very large, lots of chrome appears very sturdy. Plastic body is very shiny and has very good detail. There is a very large sticker on the top showing a "do not sit" picture. Apparently, not as study as we thought. After removing from it box, it felt extremely light compared to a much smaller Tonka. It comes with two hard plastic trash cans that do not seem to fit very snug. Any slight bump and the cans fall of the back. Even when dumping into back loader, the cans are very prone to falling off. While looking at the chassis to assess durability it was very easy to see why "no sitting" is permitted. The tires are hollow... yes... hollow. Think of a doughnut cut in half! Now I am wondering if this truck will even withstand the weight of a four year old's hands pushing from the top. The trash mechanism is all manual as expected and once trash is dumped in, the twin screws operate quite well. The back opens to expose all the "waste material" and the tilting action works well- although not extremely sturdy. My son does like the truck, but usually just looks at it and pushes it around hardwoods. Unfortunately, most of the heavy work is done by his other Tonka trucks. He is somewhat tough on them and they take the "abuse" in stride. I usually do not take the time to write a review, especially for a toy trash truck. However, there is much disappointment for this item from Bruder. In my opinion, this is very close to being a static model rather than a play toy. Cost aside (cost three times as much as Tonka Trash Truck) if all prices were equal... There are much better options out there.You will like this item if:You like scale realism and the children are very gentle on toys.You may want to keep looking if:Your children are tough on toys and want a good value for the moneyHope this review helps all the parents on the fence about buying this item.
