These pads are the best thing by FAR that I have found for cracked nipples. My 13 month old's teeth gave me a big cut, and these pads are fantastic for soothing after feeding. I leave them on all day, and actually, although the box says they are reusable for 24 hours, I think they last a lot longer. They are still very soothing. The only thing is that I have to take them out when I leave the house because I wear thin bras, and you can see the outline through my shirt. I have another nursing bra with a thick lining, and they work great in that one, but all my others are thing.

I would give this zero stars if possible. Do not use this product for breastfeeding! It provides the perfect environment for thrush to develop, causing you potentially weeks of pain and suffering. I used these from the first day of breastfeeding in the hospital. They were given to me by the lactation consultant for sore/bleeding/damaged nipples. I used them for weeks, and was STILL bleeding at 10 weeks post-partum. I could have healed much, much sooner without these causing a secondary thrush infection. The best treatment for nipples is to keep them dry and exposed to air. The breast shells would be a much better option. Moist wound healing for breastfeeding has not been shown to be effective, and can possibly be harmful. A basic internet search for 'the truth about breastfeeding' will provide several helpful articles about this subject.

Comments about Medela Tender Care HydroGel Pads:
Not worth buying or using. I tried this brand because it was a little less then the Lanolin gel pads. Unfortunately, the pads didn't soothe/heal, the shape caused them to not lay flat and leave gaps where they wouldn't seal, and they are sticky along the edge causing them to stick to your clothes. I would recommend using the Lanolon gel pads, they are awesome and well worth the extra money.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Medela Gel Pads
from Garland, TX
It really did not help with soreness. Not a good reusable item. The gel is cooling but it only lasts a few minutes. Not worth it.

When I first started nursing the hydrogel pads were the best at soothing the soreness and pain I was experiencing.
The product is ok

I got these for my sore nipples related to a poor latch. They give you a cool refreshing feel when applied. Almost similar to a mild ice pack. I do not like that I need to watch my nipples off prior to feeds, it makes the product inconvenient in that aspect.
ABSOLUTE MUSE HAVE

These are a life saver when going through nipple soreness at the beginning and middle stages of nursing. I've used them for all 3 of my babies and now they are a mainstay in ever baby shower gift I give.
Good for the price

They were decent, but I believe the lansinoh brand did a better job.
from Staten Island, NY
An absolute necessity for a nursing mother.
Life*safer when beginning to nurse
This is the best product ever invented to help ease sore nipples! These were recommended by a friend to use when I first started breastfeeding and they offer so much relief!! I live on these for the first month or so of nursing!
