I can only rate this in comparison to one other brand since I have only tried 2. I much prefer Medela lanolin over Lansinoh. The Medela comes out of the tube much easier and softer. When applied it does not tug on the nipples- which are probably sore if you are using lanolin. I have extremely sensitive nipples and this product is a must have!

The packaging is difficult to work with given that the lanolin is so temperature sensitive. I use it as a lubricant on the flanges to my breast pump. The yellow color makes everything look dirty and disgusting. It just doesn't seem as smooth as the purple brand.

I'm buying this again for my second baby after using it with my first baby. I cracked and bled when I started nursing and this product was my saving grace. It softened and helped heal my poor sore nipples! I didn't think it was too messy at all and it's safe for baby so I didn't worry about rubbing it all off before every feeding. Highly recommended!

I received a sample tube of Lansinoh at the hosiptal that worked for the first week or two, until my nipples started to crack anyway and I developed a plugged duct. Still used the Lansinoh until it became even more painful to apply it than just go without. Even if I rubbed the lanolin between my fingers, it still tugged at my tender skin.

Got a tube of this lanolin, and within three uses I can already tell a difference. For me, this glides across my skin so much better and fills in the cracks well, too. My cracks are already much less red and look like they are on their way to healing, and the pain is much, much better as well. Will definitely repurchase when the time comes!

Love this stuff! Started using it before I gave birth due to dry nipples. It also worked wonders when I first started nursing because my nb son chomped the hell out of my nipples. The hospital also gave multiple tube samples to take home, so that is a good sign of its quality. The only issue is that sometimes it gets a bit difficult to squeeze out.

This product does work, but I don't love it. The negatives in my opinion are that it is thinner in consistency than I like, which makes it seem like it doesn't provide as much protection. Also I don't like the smell... Smells a little unnatural to me, not perfumed but a little like petroleum jelly or something. My last complaint is that when cool it is hard to squeeze out.

I have used other lanolin ointments, and i prefer this one. It sqeezes out of the tube soft and ready to spread.

Compared to Lansinoh brand lanolin, Medela's is better! It is smoother and goes on much easier which is great when your nipples are sore, cracked and/or bleeding. I used Lansinoh with my first two kids wanted to use it again but in the store I was in it was locked in a case and I was in a hurry and the medela wasnt locked up so i grabbed that one and very pleased! Within 2 days of using it my nipples were moist and soft again and i am only applying twice a day since i am still preggo. Tube is small enough that it doesnt take up much room in the diaper bag which is great since i will have a newborn and 14 month old and fits perfectly into my small purse.

I had to have a small procedure done in my nipple about 8 weeks before delivery and this cream worked great then. I can only imagine how good its going to work when my little baby boy starts breastfeeding.
Totally recommended.
