I LOVE this detergent. I got a bottle at my baby shower & washed all my son's things before he was born. His room & closet smelled sooooo good! However, like others have said...it is expensive so I started buying free & clear detergents that were cheaper & I had coupons for. Apparently my over sensitive pregnancy nose never went away & the unscented detergent started to stink to me. I bought another bottle of dreft the other day because I got a coupon & it has made all the difference! Since its so expensive & the other stuff is so cheap, I mixed dreft with the free & clear so the dreft lasts longer but the scent is still there. It kinda evens the price out & you still get fresh smell.

The first two times I used this detergent, it foamed up in my washing machine and spilled over. I can only use it for small or medium loads now, and I only use a tiny amount of detergent (up to the 1 on the cap). I don't have a high-efficiency washing machine, so I'm not sure why this happens--maybe because I have a water softener. I just wish I hadn't bought such a huge bottle. I'll never finish it.

this product smells very nice, takes out all stains, and leaves clothes soft and fresh. it is a bit expensive, but what i do is that I wait for the $5 dollars off coupon from babies r us to buy it....it helps. Much better than all those detergents with no fragrance...which feels and smells as if it didn't do anything.

I bought this because everything and everyone said you should use it. I bought this huge bottle of it at a wholesale club thinking it would get used. I started washing my son's clothes before he was born with it and I started getting itchy from just taking the clothes out of the wash and putting into the dryer. I also felt the smell was way too strong for a "mild baby detergent". By the time my son arrived I was using the detergent I used for my own clothes which is free from dyes and perfumes. My son hasn't had a reaction to either of the detergents but I just plain stopped using the Dreft because of the smell and the fact that it makes ME itchy. I wanted to like it but...it just wasn't for me.

Very gentle on baby's skin. My first child had very sensitive skin and constantly broke out in a rash and changing to this product definitely eased the problem.

This detergent is fabulous! Leaves clothes soft and smelling great. So gentle for baby. A must have!

I really like how Dreft takes the stains out of my children's clothes but the smell can become a bit overpowering. Plus Dreft is so pricey-even when it's on sale. Pur ex came out with a new baby laundry soap and it smells amazing, works really well, and is so much cheaper. You can also use almost anything that's free and clear which I do a lot when I find anything on sale and have a coupon..because I LOVE to save money. So overall this is nice if you can afford it, but if you have a sensitive nose like I do, the smell may be too much for you and you may prefer a laundry detergent that is free and clear.

Everyone loves this product...except for me. I think the scent is too strong and the price is absurd! Most babies only wear something once or twice, so I don't think it's worth paying 4x as much for this detergent as other name brands, to preserve the quality of the clothing. I use Dynamo and Purex - both remove stains just as well as Dreft and don't have that overpowering scent. Babies are expensive enough. Don't waste your money on a [$] bottle of detergent.
