I've read the other reviews, and yes, they are a little difficult to install. However, unless you're using a device that attaches to the outside of the cabinet or to the handles it's going to be a pain to install. To make it easy on myself, I used a drill to start small holes. That way it was easy to screw in the screws. It does the trick though. My daughter is 17 mo. and she CAN reach her arm into the cabinets, but can't put anything out. Plus, the really hazardous stuff I keep away or deep in the cabinets. They're worth it, unless you're high maintanence.

I'm not going to lie. When I found this product I was excited they made something that wasn't visible like some of those gawdy plastic pieces you see on peoples cabinets who have small children. I installed these when my twins were 10 months old and now at 13 months old they have figured out how to open the cabinets and push down the lever to get all the goodies inside. I am now the proud owner of those gawdy safety latches that I loathed. In other words, even though these are "pretty" they are actually pretty useless. Now I have to remove all the screws from inside my cabinets from where I installed them. I wasn't too fond of making holes when I installed these things but thought it was going to be worth it. As you can see I was wrong.

Comments about Safety 1st 7 Pk Wide Grip Drawer Latches:

I looked at all of the other latches before i bought this one, you are going to need to drill holes with any other tpye of latch you get.
These latches open the door a little bit so that you can get your hand/ finger in so you can open the door.
Got to make sure you look at the instructions to know that you are putting the latches in right instead of backwards.
I've been using this product for a year now and they have not brock on me.

Installed this on one drawer. Hard to install and when you gave the drawer a good pull, it opened right up. Worthless.

Comments about Safety 1st 7 Pk Wide Grip Drawer Latches:

I installed these today and they are great. I went with this type of latch because my parents used them for my sister in their kitchen about 15 years ago and they are still installed and haven't been removed. I knew these were a great buy. They do open a little bit but not enough for your child to really get into the cabinets. I do recommend pushing everything as far back as you can into the cabinet just to be extra safe but I feel confident with this product. I understand that you have to drill holes in your cabinets but it is well worth it because the screws are small and don't go in very deep and they leave a small hole. I made a couple mistakes on screw placement and just filled the holes with wood filler and it looks fine. You can't even notice. Besides, who will be looking at the inside of the cabinet doors? I do regret not buying the pivot latch so I can disarm it if my child isn't around but these are fine.

These latches are not easy to install. I wouldn't have minded it that much if the latches actually lasted. However, after opening and closing the drawers several times, the plastic part on the latch that catches has broken on several of our latches, rendering them useless.

We put this product on all our kitchen and bathroom cabinets. Yes the doors open a bit however our 17Month twin boys get discouraged and walk away when they find they can't touch what's in the cabinet.
Installation was simple enough that even me, mommy, finished installing them.
