I bought these because you do not have to ruin your cabinets or screw anything in. Just put the hooked ends over the knobs, click in place, and you're done. They may be difficult for those maybe with long nails or if you have arthritis, but I have neither. I just push the button on the bottom in and slide it one way and it opens easily. I also think they were a good price. Give them a try.

I read the reviews about this product being hard to open and purchased them anyway. They are neat and the nicest looking baby cabinet locks I could find (we did not want to drill holes in our cabinets.) They really are not that hard to work at all - I think they have received a very unfair reviews. Although I purchased this product in 2010 - so perhaps they have made improvements.

this is adult proof too!!! hard to push the release button and pull at the same time. a good idea but too hard to use, so most of the time i leave it undone...

This new design is awful .... hard to put on, hard to open. It's easier to empty out your cabinets and let the baby have full access than to deal with this product. I still have two of the older design from my oldest child's time and they were much better. I'm trying to find some used ones like those. Don't waste your money.

We tried 4 different kinds of cabinet locks before these! The others either pushed our cabinets open a few inches, made the hinges crooked or broke off. They take a little while to get used to opening, but once you the hang of it, they are a great product. My son could NEVER figure out how to open these locks.

I bought these because I liked the appearence of them better and alittle bit cheaper, but they are the hardest things to put on and take off. Very poor design. With alittle pressure, you can easily take them off! Not a good product, definitly not a "baby proofing" item! Would not recommend!!

It's not only baby proof but adult proof. Then after about a month it stoped working all together. I don't recommend any of safety 1st propucts. Pay alittle more money and buy kidco. I went through so many babyproof stuff. But now ONLY buy kidco. SHould have done that in the first place.

I bought this for my under-the-sink cupboard that I kept all the cleaners in. My son quickly learned to open the cupboards even with the drawer latches, so we simply kept toys and tupperware in the cupboards he could reach. We did want to keep the "poisons" away from him and the food prep area though. I love Safety 1st and bought this 2 pack item. I could never get the latch open myself and always had to have my husband do it for me. So, if hubby wasn't home, Mom couldn't clean.

Also, my son at 16 mos learned if he held the two doors together in the middle and pulled with his weight, it would cause the latch to be forcibly opened and fall off. I went through both latches quickly after that. We are going to try the zip tie model next. Not recommended with curious little ones or parents that do not have time or patience to spend 10 minutes trying to get into the cupboard!

These are adult proof too! The problem is that the button that locks the product gets depressed if you try to slide the other side open. But these would be GREAT if you were trying to keep adults away from something.
