The Britax Marathon Convertible Car Seat in Cowmooflage is perfect for parents who are looking for a rear- and forward-facing, harnessed car seat that can support up to 65 pounds. This Britax high-capacity convertible car seat can be used in rear-facing configuration for children from 5 to 35 pounds and in forward-facing configuration for children from 20 to 65 pounds, allowing your child to stay in a 5-point harness through the toddler years. Side-impact protection

Side-impact protection distributes crash forces, shields from vehicle intrusion and contains the head, neck and body. The energy-absorbing foam liner (EPS) also absorbs and distributes crash forces. High-density comfort foam provides an extra layer of padding to gently cushion your child.


LATCH connectors

The Britax Marathon Convertible Car Seat features premium, push-button lower LATCH connectors for quick, simple and tight installation in LATCH-equipped vehicles.


HUGS

HUGS (Harness Ultra Guard System) reduces forward head movement and cushions the chest in the event of impact. The front harness adjuster provides effortless front adjustment when loosening the harness system. The convenient harness holders keep harness straps out of the way while you place your child in the car seat. The 5-point harness makes contact with the strongest parts of the body, and the plush, premium cover set with matching belly pad provides extra comfort.


Absorbs energy

Patented, energy-absorbing Versa-Tether with staged-release tether webbing anchors the top of the child seat at 2 points to minimize forward movement in a crash.


Efficient base

The Britax Marathon Convertible Car Seat has a small contoured base that ensures tight installation in all types of vehicles. The energy-absorbing base deforms in the event of a crash to absorb impact forces.


Lock-offs

Built-in lock-offs secure the vehicle seat belt so that the child seat does not move more than 1 inch side to side or front to back at the belt path.

This seat looks very nice and has a great safety rating. The only problem is that it just doesn't quite fit my son correctly. He is in the 50th percentile in both weight and height, and still seems to be angled incorrectly in it. I know that the seat is installed properly, but he just isn't as comfortable as he was when he was in his carrier (Graco SafeSeat).

Overall good product. My mind is at ease when my children are buckled in this seat. Fits well in both my truck and car. My children are comfortable when riding in them, which makes for much more pleasant travel.

Material is adorable and washes well. The only negative is that the straps do twist. I am told this happens on all car seats.

Well worth the money.

This is a wonderful car seat! I've had it for almost a year now. Yes, it's expensive, but well worth it! Especially when you consider the fact that you don't have to replace it until your child needs a booster. Plus, you can't put a price on safety. Expecting another baby and already have plans to buy another one of these seats!

The cost was worth it because it was the only one I needed. My first two children I found myself replacing the car seat almost every year because they out grew the seat or the cover fell apart when washed. Not this time. My third child had one and only one car seat from the time she was 6 months old until she forced me to put her in a booster at 5. (i did use a carrier for the 1st six months so as to easily transport a sleeping baby from car to house)The cover washes beautifully and the only thing that faded was the 'warning' label that was sown in and though it became lighter over the years it was and still is legible.

Minuses: it has lots of straps and safety features which can be overwhelming. The instruction manual isn't very helpful when you are unfamiliar with the product, but makes more sense after you get comfortable with the seat. Some may find it big and bulky, and it is, but I felt that made the seat sturdier and safer. It would be nice if they had an instruction video on their website regarding all the beats and installation processes and they may offer that now, i haven't been on the site since 2004, but am now looking for a friend.

We bought the Roundabout thinking that the Marathon wouldn't fit in the rear middle seat of my husband's Chevy Silverado extended cab. The Roundabout did not work out using LATCH, so we tried the Marathon and it fit perfectly. We did have to use a folded towel under the seat, but other than that... AWESOME!!

My daughter quickly outgrew her infant car seat @ 6 mo (98th% hgt and wght). We had put this carseat on our registry but did not receive it at that time. I was debating going with a cheaper seat but decided that because she is growing so fast a seat that harnesses to 65 lbs would be best for us. This seat is so easy to get her in and out. Love the velcro to keep the straps out of the way when putting her in and out. Also love the strap covers that match the cute pattern. It is a tall seat when installed rearfacing but the safety is worth it. She seems to love it as she has happily ridden for up to an hour in it without complaint.

I use this car seat full time in my 4 door sedan. I thought at first whoa this is big! But it fits perfect for my now ten month old. He Loves the car seat! It was expensive, but safety is priceless! I read tons of reviews, and finally chose either this one or the roundabout 50. I am glad I picked the marathon! The only cons- I'm a first time mother and I was not sure I installed this right. I had it checked out by my local car dealership, and I had the belt to loose. I LOVE the velcro where you can keep the straps so they dont get sat on! Love this car seat!
