This Barbie doll is ok. Her hair and face are nice as is typical for Barbie. Her leotard and tights are modled/painted on, but she does come with a removeable tutu. I like the molded on clothes and the painted tights, less for my little one to lose.
My daughter is frustrated with this doll's limited ballet poses. Her legs are unbendable, hard plastic. It's extremely difficult to move the legs even in the simpliest pose. My daughter is gentle with her Barbies, but I fear this doll will have broken legs if handled too much.
I did get this doll on sale, and that is the main reason why this doll doesn't seem like such a waste. So, if your child doesn't mind having a ballerina doll that cannot actually pose in ballet positions, not even simple ones, then this doll might be one to pass on.

        I ordered this for my daughter to have as her first Barbie, but was very disapponted. It looks very different than what the pictures shows, much cheaper. The top is actually a part of the Barbie and doesn't come off, so you can't change her outfit. We returned this and got a better one at a different store.

          This was one of two Barbies we bought to introduce my daughter to them this season.

          A few things to be aware of:
          * The hair is longer than it looks in the picture. It's styled in a high ponytail with the ends caught back up in the elastic. So the hair COULD be taken down to be quite long.
          * The leotard shown is actually PART OF THE BODY. It is molded into the plastic -- complete with the color and the texture.
          * Likewise, her legs are pink, and her feet are forever in pointe shoes, making it impossible to put other shoes on her feet.

          That said? She's a beautiful doll. Her arms are gracefully positioned, so that no matter how you move them, it looks like a ballet pose.

          She CAN wear other clothes... though some dresses that are meant to fit tightly look... odd... on her bumpy torso.
