My son got this toy from Santa and loves it! It has very realistic sounds and he likes watching the water move around on the front door of the washing machine. My son has special needs and this has been a good learning tool for him to remember the proper order in which to load the detergent and then push the buttons.

The washer is not huge but it's a good size for a toddler/young child. The washer doesn't actually use any water but the sealed door window is halfway filled with water so that you can see water flinging about during the cycles. The five red buttons in the picture from left to right are 1) On/Off; 2) Fill with water cycle; 3) Wash cycle; 4) Spin cycle; 5) The Master switch for running through all three cycles. Each cycle lasts several seconds and has somewhat realistic sounds. The Spin cycle starts out high-pitched and gets higher before the cycle ends eventually tormenting every dog within hearing distance. The drum is small and will only handle one outfit from a large doll (18" or larger). For smaller dolls, it can handle more. My 3 year old daughter loves it which is of course the bottom line.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
