Just what the doctor ordered: lots of accessories for great role-play fun. A stethoscope that really works. Plus a blood pressure cuff with a spinning gauge (big enough to fit grown-up patients.), a "sick-to-well" thermometer, pretend otoscope, spring-loaded syringe and a bracelet style bandage that all fits into a soft "doctor" bag for storage. (Lab coat not included.). Ages 3-6.

My husband and I bought this set for our 19 month old daughter in pink, it has all the same stuff just pink and purple and a hard platic carrying case. Even though our little one is a bit young for this toy (I belive the recommended age was 2 or 3+) she loves the Disney show "Doc McStuffins" about the toy doctor I thought it would be a cute toy for her and something she could play with for a couple of years. My little one is also very independant so it's hard to find toys to play with her because she always wants to do everything herself so I figured this would be a great toy to play together and it worked! She puts the band-aid on me, checks her stuffed animals and my heart beat, I check her "blood pressure" and she gives me "shots"...we have fun with it! The only things that I was a little disapointed about was with the quality compared to the ones my sister and I had as kids (same brand) I may have just bought a dud but the stethoscope that claims "it really works", doesn't...even the ones we had as kids used to work! Also the ear pieces hurt my daughters ears and I tried it and they are really uncomfortable, I remeber they used to have foam pieces on them, however, they did add a thermometer which is cute and the eye chart and other chart that shows how to use everything is a nice touch! All and all it's a fun toy for little ones & great imaginative play, throw in the price and you can't go wrong!

This kit may not be fully functional, but it is worth the price & will provide opportunities for imaginary play. I was impressed with the stethescope (It really works!), albeit the ear pieces are awkwardly large. Honestly, they need to be so that children do not end up with plastic tips being broken off & plugging their ear canals. However, when they are inserted into the auricle, they cause the entire device to twist, & that can be annoying. The syringe has a spring inside which allows children to mimic the action of administering a shot, & the blood pressure cuff has velcro to secure around a small toddler arm. When you press the flange, the gauge needle circles 'round & 'round which is a neat sound effect. Other pieces include a Band-Aid & a thermometer, both of which could afford improvement. The bandage is more of a cuff, & the thermometer could be better if it included markings of degrees to teach children counting by tens, for example. There is also a hammer which serves as an instrument to inspect eyes & ears as well as to test reflexes. Lastly, I have to say that the tote bag is ideal for keeping everything together. It would complement any doctor/nurse costume. My recommendation is to engage in play with your child--explaining to them what each item is, what it does, etc.--not leaving him/her to ponder.

Missing the carry case

Comments about Fisher-Price 1001124 Fisher-Price Medical Kit:
The new packaging stinks. The little bag that is given to carry the toy in leads to missing pieces. Wish they would bring back the old fashioned doctors box.

Great buy for the price

My son is 4 years old and has used this kit every day since we bought it. He loves it because it has many of the same items that mommy's bag has. The only reason I gave it a 4, not a 5 is because the blood pressure cuff fits me, but not my son. Maybe make longer velcro so it fits us both. Also, the bandage is shaped like a bracelet, limiting where you put it. Maybe a few flexible rubber ones instead.Otherwise this kit has been so much fun for him (and me). We have gotten hours of fun out of it already, and I am sure we will continue to do so.
Could have done better

My 4 yr old wanted a Dr kit and this is what he picked. (The only one at TrU)He plays with it for a few minutes but loses interest fast. The stethascope isnt as great as one might think. It just has some foam in the inside that makes it sound like a heart beat. Kids can get the foam out if they try.

What a great value for this toy. My son's imagination was instantly sparked by this toy. You can even hear someones heartbeat with the stethoscope. Durable for those little guys who play rough with their toys. Recommend this toy.
