Product Description

It's very busy in the Parisian Restaurant. As a scooter zips by, inside the waiter rushes between the tables as the nervous young man gets ready to propose with the ring! It's just as hectic behind the scenes, with the chef busily preparing the food. This beautifully detailed building is the setting for so many stories and is a great addition to the modular building series. The Parisian Restaurant has a fully-stocked, blue and white tiled kitchen with tableware as well as a cozy apartment with pull-down bed, kitchenette and fireplace. On the top floor is the artist's room with a studio that includes a cast iron heater, easel, paintbrush and two works of art by the aspiring artist. Outside, stairs lead down to the roof terrace lined with hanging lanterns and flowers where the diners eat alfresco-style. This amazing Parisian Restaurant model even includes a facade with croissants, clams and feather details that recapture the feel of Paris. Includes 5 minifigures: chef, waiter, girl and a romantic couple.

A standing ovation for the Lego Modular creators. Wow. I can not believe how wonderful this set is. This set is just, wow. I don't know what to say. The set is amazing and stunning. I have a whole lot to say about the set at the end but lets get to the main review! Minifigures: Chef - All the modular mini figures always have the classic LEGO happy, yellow face. The chef is a neat mini figures and includes plain white pants, a classic chef torso, a knife, and a classic chef hat. Waiter - The waiter is a fancy, classical minfigure. He includes plain white pants, a business suit, a waiter trey with a beer bottle on it, and nice brown hair. Girl - The girl actually seems to be a teenager or a young adult. The girl has blue pants and something I thought was interesting is that she is wearing the Sensei Wu torso. She also has long, nice brown hair. She also includes a red classical 50s type motorcycle or scooter or some type of bike. Romantic Couple - The romantic couple is 2 minfigures which is a man and a woman. The man has light brown pants and a blue business suit. He has blond hair and a wedding ring (also known as the ring from the Lord of the Rings) ready to propose to his girlfriend or soon to be wife. The woman has sand colored pants and a blue torso with a seashell necklace. She has long orange hair and a wine glass. Main Build: Now before I can give you guys the detail to this main building I have to tell you guys that I will be splitting the set into the 3 floors so I'll talk about each floor and more one at a time. 1st Floor (Parisian Restaurant) - Now the Parisian restaurant is incredible. It's like no modular I have ever seen. The outside detail is amazing. On the left side of outside building in the front are seats for outside customers. There is a table with one seat that has a croissant on it and a table with two blue chairs. The outside eating area has 3 black chains with green flowers under them surrounding the eating area which is a fantastic feature. There is also 2 yellow flowers in maroon red pots in the area too. The entrance to the restaurant is very detailed with a red carpet leading to the entry way and a clear door to enter inside. There is a fancy red over curtain to give it a fancy look and a label/logo that shows the Restraunt's name "Chez Albert Restaurant". There is also a cool little menu on the outside on a stand so the customers can see what delicious treats the restaurant can offer for them. On the right side of the outside there is a brown bench and a lamp post plus some green spiky plants. There is also a brown detailed stairway that heads up to the 2nd floors outside area. On top of the 1st floors outside are some very detailed shade gliders made of black cell-like doors and tree leaves plus some lamps. There are also some giant brown windows in the eating area. Inside there is two tables, one containing two black chairs and the other containing two black chairs as well. There are various of brown windows and a painting of a ship sailing in the night. There also is a very cool beer holder with 4 classes of various of colors in the case. As you can see inside the romantic couple are talking until the young man decides to propose! (Well you don't have to make that happen it's just my imagination and what he's supposed to do.) As you can see the waiter is also running after the couple to refill there drinks. The ground is made of various of colors but mostly tan smooth bricks. If you didn't know, the 1st floor is supported by a brand new 32x32 grey baseplates which you normally see bigger. As you go over to the chef's kitchen there is a beautiful blue and black patterned tile floor. There is a place where the chef is cooking a roast turkey and behind him are various of tools to use for cooking including knives and cake rollers. There is a white fridge in the corner. There is a area to wash the dishes containing plates and glasses. There also is a are which holds cupcakes and pies. There is a clock up above and a broom stick holding on the side. The kitchen and the eating are is separated by a tiny bar that has red flowers on it. The whole restaurant is made of olive green colors and light grey colors. Incredibly detailed and fun! The back side outside of the place is very detailed too. There is a green trash can and a trash dumpster that is open and full of hot dogs, grapes, and bones. Next to those two trash things is a grey mice. There is a door that leads into the kitchen that has above some red and white shade gliders. On the walls of the restaurant outside back are green plants/vines that have red flowers on them and weeds. 2nd Floor (Couples Apartment and Outside Parisian Eating Area) - After a long night at the Parisian Restaurant the couple finds themselves in the upstairs apartment! Inside of the apartment is 3 doors one leading to the outside front view of the building, one leading to the outside back of the building porch, and one leading outside to a area with stairs leading to the 3rd floor and the area were the 2nd floor restaurant eating area is (which I'll talk about soon). There is a red lamp in the apartment and a kitchen full of various details like the oven and the pantries. there is a seat with a table that has a coffee cup on it. There is a spinning chair that has a desk in front of it that is clear and black. There is a fold up chair that you can fold down to reveal a cozy sandy colored and light blue colored patterned bed. There is a fire place that is greatly detailed and warm which is also connected to the outside chimney. The outside of the apartments front detail is very cool. There are two huge windows which have pink and green flowers below them. In the middle of the apartment is a porch which one of the couple can walk up and look at the beautiful city they live in (If they live in a beautiful city). On the right side of the building is a cool part of the chimney with various of details like the grey bricks and random tiny light grey spots. On the back of the building is a really cool stairway that leads up to the 3rd floor. There also is another porch. Another thing that is apart of the 2nd floor is the outside 2nd floor dining area! Yes the Parisian restaurant still doesn't end! There is a mini area that has 2 tables that each contain two blue chairs. There is a area that has a bottle and a wine glass. There also are various of black bars and some lamp posts that are holding pink beautiful flowers. 3rd Floor (Art Studio) - The Art studio is beautiful too. Inside is a fire place that you can close and open. The studio is small but still very detailed. There is a thing to hold artwork; there's one piece of artwork in the holder. You can see the girl painting a picture with her unique paintbrush and her unique paint palette (a piece of wood with various of colors of paint on it). The girl seems to painting a bunch of random colors but if you were a mini figure it's probably beautiful artwork. Or it's something very abstract. The artwork studio has a door that opens out to the outside which you can go downstairs to the restaurant or apartment. The artwork studio is absolutely amazing and I love it so much. How you enter the artwork studio is you push down the back part of the 3rd floor and then you can see all what is happening inside which is a really nice feature. The outside door has a plant next to it, a lamp, and some yellow and white shades. There also are some red and green flowers at the bottom. The outside front of the building is absolutely amazing. It is so detailed that I was stunned with the build. On the bottom of the front are grey feathers which give a incredibly fancy and cool look. Up above are two circle details that are super fancy. There are white croissants on both sides of the build and a white seashell in the middle. These builds are super fancy and lovable. In the middle of the outside front are medical black windows and a white lamp-type thing on the top. Most of the front is made of smooth blue pieces moving down like a waterfall which gives it a very old-fashioned fancy look. It's a incredible look too! On the right side of the floor is the rest of the chimney. It has grey bricks and random small grey pieces. At the top of the chimney there is the classical top of a chimney with 4 grey cylinder pieces which resemble a chimney-top! So as you can see from the review this modular is amazing. When you put it all together the modular is fantastic and stunning. I could look at it 24/7 if I had the time. When you look at the back of the whole building it looks incredibly detailed too! It has so much to offer! Some people were wondering why this set is a little bit more expensive then your average LEGO Modular (Excluding the Town Hall) and the reason is because the set contains about 2500 pieces. If you think about it, the average $150 Modular set has 2000 to 2300 pieces but this one has more. So basically the set is $160 so its just $10 more for about 200-500 more pieces which is a incredibly good deal! And as everybody knows the modular sets are like expensive but they contain a whole lot of pieces compared to the average $10 equals 100 pieces type of thing. In my opinion, this is the best modular LEGO has ever made. It is a huge improvement compared to the older ones which were huge surprises too. What can I say; the LEGO Modular creators are getting better and better! This is a series, serious must buy for all advanced LEGO builders! IT is a absolutely incredible set! I recommend this set to everybody in the LEGO world who can build a big set and I hope you enjoy this magnificent masterpiece! 10/10

Nine pieces missing

I was so disappointed that there were nine pieces missing from my model. I have still not been able to finish it, as I'm waiting for Lego to send me the missing pieces.

Such a delight to build

Comments about LEGO Creator Parisian Restaurant (10243):

Hi guys, This is the first big LEGO Creator building I've bought (I have The Simpsons' house, Benny's Spaceship, Spaceship, SPACESHIP!, and the tiny toy store), and I love it! I've attached some photos. They have been processed with Photoshop so they are a bit more lively light-wise than the actual building. I've had an almost 30 year gap in my LEGO life, so it is so much fun to have these little "Oh, I remember this construction trick" moments as well as the "Wow, they have these sorts of bricks today!" realisitions. It took me three nights to build the Parisian Restaurant, and all went smoothly. The only part where I had difficulties was the top floor and its gable which I knocked over two times mainly because it got secured to the other walls so late. Also, I have chubby fingers... :D The things I love about this set: The fasade details - a joy to build, and fascinating to look at; the restaurant curtains - the bricks actually, in my eyes at least, mimic the draping of the cloth (not so that it is visible but the way the bricks are layered); the olive colored bricks - what a refined tone; the rat - because I love smart rodents; the opening roof of the atelier; the fact that the minifigures have the basic LEGO face. I also love the color of the "logs" in the fireplaces. The dark chocolaty tone is so beautiful I wish I could find some other set with more of bricks with that color. Last but not least I really appreciate all the ideas and solutions this set gives to my own LEGO buildings - the bed that rises to the wall, the rotating armchair, the decorations inside and out, and one more time: the fireplaces. I think I will not take this building apart but rather modify it to fit the needs of my LEGO heroine and her neighbourhood. Maybe change some of the interior colors etc. The middle floor is perhaps a bit too manly for my heroine's taste... I can wholeheartedly recommend this building to any LEGO and architecture/interior design fan. Thanks for the experience, LEGO folks!

Et Voilà le Restaurant de Lego City!

By amazed78

Comments about LEGO Creator Parisian Restaurant (10243):

I ordered this set (along with the Detective's Office) from lego.com and when they arrived (actually the postwoman brought the big carton to my front door) I just spent an hour looking at the boxes in awe. I had to assemble the flower cart that came along with these two buildings almost immediately after I'd finished with my making "awwwww" sounds. The Parisian Restaurant is so beautiful to look at that it makes my eyes go moist. I didn't know you could build something so beautiful out of mere plastic bricks. The backyard is the prettiest one in the series so far, I especially love the plants that are growing up the back wall. There are three separate play areas in this set. Firstly, there is the ground floor restaurant with so much detail that it makes your head spin. Secondly, there's the apartment on top of the restaurant that has an abundance of awesome pieces of furniture and thirdly, there's the top floor artist's studio with a roof so cool that I had to take it to the sauna to heat it up a bit. I believe I still have a touch of frostbite on my fingertips... I have only two things that I find not-so-pleasing with this set. 1) The fridge door is a bit tricky to open with my clumsy fingers. I'm still waiting for Lego to send me a pair of proper hands. Or just fingers, if hands are too difficult to manufacture... 2) Since the second tier of the building comes off in two parts, it is rather impossible to take the smaller section (the terrace floor) out if there's a building on the right side of the set. You have to take the house part out first and only then you can take out the terrace section without breaking anything. I also have one question: What is the big blue-and-grey boxy thing at the back of the building? Is it a dumpster? I sure hope not, because I stuck all my Lego bananas in it and I sure hope the garbage truck will stay away from it...

Received this as a Christmas gift and started building immediately. This set has a ton of details and creative building techniques. If you are a fan of the modular buildings you have to get this one! I enjoy the builds that take a good amount of time or even multiple sittings and this one does not disappoint.

My Favorite LEGO Modular to date!

By Connie52

Comments about LEGO Creator Parisian Restaurant (10243):

This is my favorite LEGO Modular set to date. The detail is amazing! The checkered floor in the kitchen and the hanging flowers and the Murphy bed... it's all so creative! My ONLY complaints about this set are: 1. Needs more minifigures. 2. The open air part outside only works well (for me anyway) with the new Detectives Office. 3. As your looking at it straight on, the right chimney knocks off really easy, so be careful. Once again, the detail in this set is simply amazing. This is a true LEGO set!

Love this building and would say it is my favorite one to date. The details were amazing and Lego never fails to surprise me with the way they have you put together beautiful and intricate building decorations. The exterior and interior of this building do not disappoint. There is new level of sophistication with this restaurant. Highly recommend!

Comments about LEGO Creator Parisian Restaurant (10243):

It was a great build. Very fun. But the end product is just fantastic. It's very well thought out and easy to play with. Hours of fun with my two young boys. A plus, my 5 year old can easily take off the levels and put it back together without any difficulties. Just fantastic.
