Builds: We get a new Batwing in this set, and I have to say I don't like it as much as the old one. The front of the Batwing looks a little untidy, and as for the play feature, it doesn't really make a lot of sense. A massive plane swoops down at breakneck speeds and brings it's huge metal wings crashing together on the bad guy? You're probably looking at the yellow bricks to the left and asking why I rated the set so highly then? Roll in Joker's Steam Roller. This vehicle is just amazing. Printed pieces galore, a great looking brick-built smile and sure, flick-fire missiles but with that cool joker face that we saw back in the Joker's Heli set. Minifigures: Starting with Batman, he's generic and actually pretty disappointing. If a set like The Penguin Face Off can pull out a unique costume and new vehicle at a low price, why can't a set costing almost five times as much? Again, this is made up for by the other amazing minifigures. The Joker has a new outfit, comic fans will notice it's from the Killing Joke which is appropriate considering we get given a Batgirl as well (Read the graphic novel to find out why). The BANG! gun is a neat little accessory for our Clown Prince of Crime. Next up we have Joker's henchman, and he's also a unique and great addition to the set, I particularly like that Lego made him different from the previous henchmen we got in the first wave. And then we reach the two new additions to the Bat-family, Batgirl and Robin. We get the Barbara Gordon version of Batgirl and she is a great minifigure, for me she made the set unmissable. We also get the Damian Wayne rendition of Robin and it's really great to see Lego dipping into some of the newer comic books for inspiration. Overall: The Batman elements to this set are a little disappointing, however everything else is so great that I can't help but feel positive about this set. For the collectors the Batgirl and Damian Wayne minifigs are invaluable and the Steam Roller looks incredible.

This set is an okay set and I really like the Joker vehicle, I just wish I could like the other part of the set. This is a horrible interpretation of the Batwing! It looks nothing like it's supposed to. It lacks any type of detail or even the shape of the Batwing.....it just looks like a black plane. The Batwing is supposed to be large menacing, lots of points at it's wingtips. It definitely is supposed to be ALL black, so I don't know why Lego used grey engine pieces and bright brick yellow for the front. It supposed to blend in with the darkness to surprise the villains....sort of hard to do if your using yellow in the front color scheme. I hate stickers as they always end up peeling and not lasting as long. I would have preferred a single spring loaded cannon (or 2) vice four flick-fire missiles. The design of the Batwing looks like an unfinished product. A capture claw in the front would have been something nice to have had on the Batwing and some tiled panels with the Batman symbol vice stickers would have been welcome. It's as if Lego put all the effort into Joker's vehicle and the Batwing was an after thought. This set could have been better if given a bit more effort and larger pieces were used. Larger plates could have been used for the wingspan and canopy of the Batwing and a adding a few pieces could have made this an epic set. On a positive note, the amount of figures is a VERY good value. 5 figures for a $50 set is an excellent value in comparison to some other sets I've seen. I hope Lego takes this feedback into consideration when they decide to make another Batwing, and I hope when they do it does the Batwing justice. I really wanted to like this set, but I just can't! I have been a Batman fan since the original movie with Michael Keaton and I own all of the Dark Knight series and the 90's animated series. It is insulting to Batman fans everywhere to try and pass this "interpretation" as the Batwing! I know Lego can do better than this!

The Steamroller of Doom!
When I received this product I was thrilled. The Joker's Steamroller set provides a large quantity of items for a smaller set. The Characters of this set are very nice. Batman: Regular Black suit like the ones we have seen before. Batgirl: A very nice edition, I was getting a little tired of all the Robins, her details and detachable headpiece is very cool, and a nice change. Damien Wayne Robin: Finally we receive Bruce's son, he is a very nice minifigure, with a good amount of details on his torso. However I do not like the fact that his only faces are angry and frightened. The Joker: A nice version of the Joker. His suit is a tad bit lighter than the older one, and the shirt is a nice bluish color. His fedora is a nice add on, it's purplish color making the Joker cooler. Joker's one sided face is a good quality face. The Goon: A nice goon, with good details on all parts of his body. The crowbar was a nice touch. The vehicles are very good, however, I do not like the fact that the Bat vehicle in this set is the Batwing, seeing how they already produced a very good Batwing before. The Joker's steamroller itself is nicely done, with handles on each side for the minifigs, and bombs on both sides. I would have liked for there to have been more weapons on the Steamroller, but overall it was very good. This set is a great buy for any Batman or DC fan.
Rollin' Rollin' Rollin'
My 7 year old son and I built this set together in about 2 hours. Instructions were easy to follow and the final product looks wonderful. The Joker's steamroller is quite the eye-catcher and came together pretty easily. It's big and ostentatious, just like the Joker's character. The Batwing was a bit more intricate of a build but it too came together relatively easily. There was only one sticker in the set (the Batman logo) so no real complaints there, but if I did have to complain about one thing it would be the Batwing. My son did not understand, and neither did I, why the wings were made to clamp forward, as the instructions illustrate, to capture the Joker. The Batwing fails on all counts with this action. There is no mechanism to trigger this action and if you press on the bar as you would expect to close the wings, it does nothing, unless the wings are already closed, in which case it opens the wings. The whole setup is awkward and frustrating, and, in truth, could have been designed better. The set really does revolve around the steamroller so it was nice to have another vehicle as well, one that didn't feel as though it was thrown in to drive up the price (as in the case of the Riddler Chase), but it was a little disappointing. Still, there are plenty of opportunities for play and the mini figures are great additions to the line, and definitely a good set for Batman fans. Enjoy, and happy building!
In general, this set has ...
In general, this set has all you need from a Lego Batman set. Cool Bat-vehicle, great villain with zany vehicle and goons, and fun guest stars. The Joker with his steam roller is a classic Joker gimmick, not to mention the fan favorite gag gun. Having a Batgirl and Robin assisting Batman adds to its desirability. The Batplane is another issue. While its design is a great look, its folding wing function seems forced and a poorly contrived attempt to give the set a cool "function." It boggles the logical mind how a plane could maintain flight if the wings fold forward like that to capture the villain (with missiles pointing absurdly in his face). Functions of Lego sets are a huge attraction, but not if they are just there to be there. A better idea for a function would be wings that fold like a bat's so it could literally hang in the Batcave. All in all, a fun set to build and play with, but its potential was not fully achieved.
I want to roll!!!
I really liked this lego. The steamroller was fun to build and came with two henchman! I really have always been a fan of the joker so I was psyched when it came with the joker. I love Batman and Robin so this was great! THe steamroller can be a little annoying because the circular things tend to fall of. The batwing is fun but hard to build. All the Figs are pretty good in this lego. I think $50.00 is a good price for this lego. Have Fun Building! P.S sorry I couldn't get a picture ;).
Happy on Christmas!

Batman: The Joker Steamroller
Wow, all I can say is wow. this is an amazing set. Figs first. Im not gonna go into Batman that much because hes in about 5 sets in that variant. Robin is great, the Damien Wayne version ( for those not aquitted with batman comics, hes batmans son ) his printing is great, nice touch with the small cape. The biggest and by far most anticipater fig of the set, Batgirl. She has a new specially molded hair piece and purple cape, along with great printing. Joker has great printing and a nice purple fedora. His henchman, eh. Now the vehicles. The Steamroller is very cool. The brick built mouth is great, along with the Powerminer like roller piece that swivels. Color scheme is awesome. The Batwing/ Batplane. The wing nfeature is cool. It fits into my Batcaave moc without taking up much room. The cockpit opens and there is some printed panels inside. Throw into some Flick missiles for both, done deal.
You're going down, Joker.
The final installment in the latest Batman wave. This one is no less satisfying, and once again the price is amazing. BATWING: This one blows away the other two with looks and sturdy build. It's an easy form, and includes four flick missiles, an open cockpit, and some pretty cool sweeping wings. Great Bat-vehicle. JOKER STEAMROLLER: This is actually a pretty fun vehicle. It's really Joker only, but as long as you're using the Joker, it's fun. It includes room for a driver, two flick Joker bombs, and the steamrolling wheel is really cool. This is a sturdy build as well, and really fun to play with. MINIFIGURES: -Batman: Your usual Batman. He's in his black suit, cape, and mask with yellow belt and symbol. He has that standard face, regular or grinning. He is armed with a Batarang. -Batgirl: Whoaness! Didn't often think about ever getting a Batgirl figure, but here we are. She quite resembles the 50s style suit, with a black mask and red hair sticking out the back. She has a feminine figure with the bat symbol on her suit and a purple cape. She has a Batarang as well. -Robin: Personally, I'm not into the comics, but apparently this is one of those later Robins named Damian Wayne. Honestly, I just like to stick with the original Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson to always be Batman and Robin. Anyway, this particular new Robin is actually pretty good. He's got a green masked face with a scared or regular face. He has mussed up black hair, a red suit with the 'R' on it, and a short yellow cape with short black legs. He is armed with a tall black staff. This is probably the best Robin that has come out since the DC theme started. -Joker: This version of Batman's infamous arch nemesis is exclusive, with a different purple suited torso. He also has only a laughing face and a purple fedora. His classic 'BANG' gun has changed from the new version in the old Batplane (a simple flag on the tommy gun) back to the old version from the old old Batplane (that seems to be a set he really enjoys taking part in), so that it's a megaphone with a stick and BANG flag on it. Good villain to have, but if you don't have another one, you may miss the classic green hair. -Joker henchman: Strange compared to others, since he's in a construction outfit. Generally, you see a simple cannon fodder, but here the exclusive constructino torso and hat make him look buff and tough. I guess that's why the Dynamic Duo needs some help from Batgirl. Anyway, always necessary for Joker to have a helper. OVERALL: The last great Batman set in the four that just came out. These sets have been spot on in the price, which is really rare for any set, so I highly recommend them. Well, on that statement, I'll leave with a high note. Until next time: thanks for watching, goodnight and party on!
One of my favorite Batman sets yet!
I bought this set with the money I got for my birthday, and I did not regret it! This set is very fun to play with and a good deal when it comes to the bricks per dollar ratio. Pros: The new Batwing ( I like the way it opens up) The steamroller The Joker with his hat The Joker goon in the construction uniform The Batgirl mini-figure Cons: I was hoping for the steamroller to be bigger The new Robin The unoriginal Batman costume Altogether a great set that anyone will enjoy.
