I had originally hoped for a folding table, but none of the nicer ones had that feature and many reviews said the ones that did were hard to take down anyway. This one looks beautiful in the yard and seems very sturdy (I got it a week ago). Reviews on other tables complained that they sagged over time or with a larger child's weight. But at 6 months pregnant, I was able to perch on the bench (albiet, right atop one of the supports) just fine beside my 2-year-old.

I am dubious that the umbrella could withstand a really bad storm, but could any? It's not as cute as the striped one on older models, but it does blend in better. The grooves in the table and bench tops make it hard to clean bird droppings that gets down in there, but then it also keeps the ickiest dirt a level below where the fingers really touch.

The five toddlers at my son's birthday party fit easily and comfortably (see photos!). This is the picnic table to "pick"!

We leave ours outside since there is not room inside and I dont not like it because its a breading ground for bugs and spiders!!!! I am going to get rid of it and buy another one that collapses so we can store it!

This picnic table is so cute and can easily fit 4 toddlers, 6 if they're small. That being said...if you want this table only for eating on it is great. If you plan to use it for crafts as I did it is NOT the one to go with. The table top has grooves that makes it extremely hard to clean and hard for the kids to draw, color, and paint. The little tikes table has a smooth surface that is much better for crafting and cleaning. I wish I would have known the top of the table was so textured before I bought. But if you only want it for eating on, it's great.

        The purchase of the Step 2 Picnic Table and Umbrella is such a nice addition to our grandchidren's playground at our house. In fact, this item now completes and compliments the other three Step 2 products we have purchased. What we like the most is the quality and thoughtful design. What we had the most trouble with was finding the placement (holes) for the screws. I would also suggest making the umbrella fit in the table so that it is not easily twirled around.

                  I have got this item picked up due to no time to get it shipped in time for Christmas... and I even wasn't sure how nice it will be due to several bad reviews. However, I am very happy with my purchase.

                  I assembled it myself, It took me 15 minutes. I used the electric screw so I found it very easy to assemble. Honestly, It was much easier to assemble than several other toys you get for kids.

                  My daughter loves it and she is 3 years old however it looks like we will use it till she turns 6 !. At least I am not worried she would fall since it is a suitable toddler size.

                  I have space home, so I am using it only inside home. So I didn't use the umbrella yet.

                  whether it is sturdy or not, well, it is sufficient enough for kids and that is enough for me. As long as she is not jumping on top of the table, I am fine with that!.

                  I don't find it difficult to clean, however my daughter eats, paints, and draws on it.

                  I am very happy with toys r us service, and everything met my expectations. Thank you!

                    I got this picnic table with umbrella for my 18m niece as a Christmas present. The pieces came in good shape and there were an adequate number of screws. The instructions were easy-to-follow line drawings. We managed to put it together in 20 minutes. After all that, so far my niece seems to love the box more! But the classic look and rugged feel of the ensemble were great.

                        The table came scratched and the umbrella colors ran. I had bought another step2 that matched that came in great shape. I like the product but do not appreciate the condition sent. I needed this for a party so I did not call and complain. This product is too expensive to receive in less than perfect shape. I am very disappointed in the quality and would not order from toysrus again.
