The doll house was given to my 2 year old for Christmas. She was so happy until we opened the box. It was empty. The box shows lots of pieces and it only comes with 3. Now we are searching for pieces of furniture!!! I think we will have to find non-Dora items.

We got the dollhouse here in virginia for my twin girls to play with. Could not find any of the furniture, so we just used little people stage 2 (ages 2-5) stuff with it. That was until we went to Puerto Rico to visit my in-laws. We went to the [...] in Puerto Rico and they didn't have the dollhouse, but they HAD, they HAAAAD all the figures and all the furniture in the store. I bought it all of course! My mother-in-law thought I was a nut packing my suitcase with all these toys, but she could not understand how hard it is to find these things back in the states. So my suggestion is, if you cannot find it at Toys R Us try [...]. When I got back home, I did scour the local [...]for some extra Dora figures (my twins fight over dora, boots ect) and I found a couple there too. The dollhouse has held up so far and we rotate what is plugged into a hotspot so the things stay new to my girls. They are only 3 and get bored quick so if I rotate the hotspots it is like the house is new again and I move the rooms around too. Oh and the little people are still hanging out. :)

They're right when they say you get a surprise when you open this dollhouse. You're surpised to find it nearly empty!! When opened on Christmas day your child hardly knows what to do with the 3 little pieces it comes with. It sits there with all these empty rooms while Dora sits on the little couch with one little lamp that lights up, WOW!!

Box is very misleading, you think you're are getting a doll house full of stuff to play with.

We purchased this 2008 christmas for our granddaughter and was disappointed to find it only included a couch & lamp, although I had purchased furniture & figure sets at the same time. I spent the past year searching the internet to find furniture and figures, successfully, but still haven't located Diego. Have filled several rooms with very creative pieces. A bed set that turns into a desk& lamp, complete bath set with toliet, sink with handtowel, kitchen set with microwave, sectional livingroom set. Baby twins cradle & changing table. Each set has a hot spot item and alot of them work outside the house. The hot spot items are clever, but there are not enough hot spots in the house for all of the working items. Our granddaughter plays with this more than any toy, especially the twins and their sets. She puts them to bed, bathes them, feeds them and lets them sit on the couch and watch tv or listen to the radio (which plays music) She loves the bath set too and have potty trained the twins while we were training her. After locating furniture & figure sets, it has been worth the price and effort. Nieces & newphews love it too. The play sets sometimes have small pieces which I immediately put away from our 2 1/2 year old. It is pricey, but she can play with it for several years before she out grows it.

I had read the reviews for this house so I knew that there was only one couch, Dora, and a lamp included. I bought the kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom when I got the house along with Boots and Isa and the twins. My 2 1/2 year old loves it. It's her favorite Christmas gift. If you can find the furniture each Design and Surprise set has a hot spot so there is always a place to plug in your accessories. The only problem is that those furniture pieces are each run by 3 AG-13 batteries. Those batteries are pricey but they have an on/off switch to save energy.
She plays with all her little figurines in the house, not just Dora and friends.

my mother bought this for my 3 year old for christmas. The house does not stay closed and you cannot buy the furniture for it anywhere. unfortunately we misplaced the gift receipt and cannot return it. this is sooo not worth the money!

This house is awesome. Its small enough that you can store it out of the way when not in use, but large enough that the kids can see and reach everything. My daughter is meticulous at 2 yrs old and loves the features. The hot spots are not as exciting as I thought they would be. But they do work.
