We bought this to encourage one of our own favorite activates…climbing. It has been fun watching our soon to be 4 year old climb the summit. Just today he tackled learning how to climb down out of the platform. The look on his face was worth it. The platform is a cool retreat for him to get away from his little brother. Item was received a week after ordering and took a few hours to put together. Having an extra person could have made it go by faster. Day two of having it and I feel it was still a good purchase…I know my son loves it!

This is a great product, but beware of a few things! First, the trucking company had mangled and tore up the flimsy box it was shipped in. I had some parts missing and had to buy from the hardware store! Took a good day to put together!

But my autistic/ADD boy loves to climb on it! So in the long run, it is worth it!

Just recommend insurance on shipping, JUST IN CASE!

Comments about Step2 Skyward Summit:

Attached is a video review done by the kids of their Step 2 Skyward Summit. It has to be one of the coolest toys a kid could own. We got this toy from our Great Grandpa. The toy is meant for kids aged 4-8 (all 4 of our big kids are within that bracket), but we have had older and younger friends over to play and they have all enjoyed our Mountain. Although it's only a few large pieces, it actually took a little more effort to put this together than we had anticipated. It is very difficult to attach the rope ladder. There is no give in the rope, so stretching it is not an option. We ended up removing the bar along the bottom so we could push the plastic a bit to get the rope ladder to attach. After the rope ladder is attached to the blue side pieces, you are supposed to use a couple washers and a long screw to attach the top of the net from the inside by the landing zone to the outside of the green and orange pieces. Even when removing the washers, there just was no way we could get all of the screws in place. We finally gave up after over an hour of trying and let the kids play on it without the rope ladder on one side. The next day, we went to the hardware store and got a longer screw in order to finish the project. One thing I noticed while researching this toy online was that in all of the images, it appears to be a square. The base of the toy is in fact a rectangle. The blue sides are longer than the orange and green ones. Also, in the online images, I couldn't tell that there was the landing zone in the center of the toy. It makes sense to have it there so they don't fall 7 feet down when they go through the hole in the top of the purple part. It's kind of a trampoline-like material. The kids LOVE this toy. They play on it every single day. Wanna see what we did with the huge box this came in??? Video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8WavWFB3IHI

      Comments about Step2 Skyward Summit:

I was very happy with the quality of the Skyward Summit. I purchased this item for my very active and furniture climbing 3 year old son. He is able to climb to the summit while improving his strength and agility. Not only is he able to enjoy it but my 5 and 10 year olds do as well. My husband assembled this item by himself in a couple of hours. The only thing that I have concerns about is the fact that it gets really hot, we have this placeed outside, and I will need to hose down the Summit before the kids can play on it during the summer months.

      Comments about Step2 Skyward Summit:

Santa brought this for my kids a couple Christmases ago and while it took all night to put together it has provided a solid 2 years of play so far, and it looks as good as the day we got it. We have it in our playroom and every child (and even some teens) want to come to our house to play because of it. It is sturdy and durable - and provides hours of imaginative fun. I opened a dayhome and it is the most played with toy, and we have other climbers too but this one surpasses them all. The kids play anything from mountain climbers, to rustic campers to Rapunzel it awakens so many fun games in their little imaginations and they thoroughly enjoy it. I definitely recommend full and active supervision as it is very tall and the kids could get hurt fairly easily but it is so worth it to sit in the playroom with them and a cup of coffee and listen to their imaginations go wild. Thanks Step 2! My kids love it!

        Comments about Step2 Skyward Summit:

We wanted to get a swing set for our 2 girls (3.5 years and 11 months) but the size of our yard didn't allow us to get anything that would last them for several years. The Skyward Summit is a perfect size for our yard and provides endless entertainment for our 3.5 year old. She keeps telling me to call her Izzy when she climbs it because it is Neverland Mountain! We just got it so I'll see how it does through the winter but my daughter's preschool has one as well and it seemed to have sustained the weather just fine. The other perk of this product is that when the girls are done with it in 5-7 years, it will be much easier to disassemble then a whole swing set! We highly recommend this product.

            Comments about Step2 Skyward Summit:

Kids love it! Pretty easy to put together (about 2-3 hours). Didn't have any trouble with the ropes- just need a little muscle to stretch it. I thought it was going to be harder after reading some of the reviews but it wasn't. Ropes just have to be lightly hammered (with a chisel) into the grooves they sit in.

                  Comments about Step2 Skyward Summit:

This toy is wonderful! We have almost 3 year old twins and while they are a bit young to crawl by themselves all over the toy, they love hiding in the lower section and hanging out on the middle section. They also love practicing their climbing and have been doing surprisingly well with the foot and hand holds. This climbing structure will definitely get a lot of use over the years.
My only complaint about it is that the rope pieces were a pain to install. My husband put the rest of the toy together with no problems/complaints, but trying to place the rope climbers and screw them in place was a major time consumer. That is the only reason why I gave four stars instead of five.
