I've used this glider for going on 6 years, through 2 kids and it is still in excellent shape. To be honest I'm VERY surprised that others have had quality issues - mine glides as smooth as the day we got it..... and that's after: nursing 2 kids for 14 months each; two toddler climbing up and down and using it as a toy; a dog jumping up and thinking it was her personal chair, and my using it while knitting. I have no hesitation (other than the price, which I think is worth it!) recommeding this glider.

We bought this rocker before our 2 year old was born, and it was great until last week when all of the ball bearings on one side of the glider mechanism spontaneously fell out onto the floor. Now it doesn't rock and we're replacing it. Still worth the money, I guess, but I'd hoped for a longer life span.

My husband bought me this glider set as a gift for the birth of our daughter. We've had it for two years now and I'm glad I waited to write a review to be able to let others know what to expect. It is roomy to sit in. Cleans up wonderfully. I haven't had a problem with the cushioning, I'm not skinny, about 40 lbs. overweight (to give you an idea on how the cushions handle). I didn't think I would ever use the pockets and they would just be more for show, but while nursing I found many uses for those pockets and was glad they were part of the design.The two problems I've had with this product are: GLIDER/CHAIR - The nuts and washers (on both sides) come off and the bolts rub up against the sides of pieces of wood so when you glide you hear and feel the rubbing. We keep putting the washers and nuts back on but my husband says he can't do anything about that since the way it was crafted he can't get tools in there to properly tighten them back on. If he took it apart he thinks it would fall apart.OTTOMAN - The only problem here is with the footrest that you can slide out. After so many times of it coming in and out it doesn't like to do that EASILY anymore. It's become a pain in the butt so I just try to remember to not take it out anymore.We have NOT contacted the manufacturer about this since when it first happened it was out of warranty. No we did NOT by a Service Plan and since that would have been the cheapest thing about the purchase I think anyone wanting to buy this set (or individually) might want to make the investment so you could get the replacement.I can't say for sure at this point if the glider set would last through another child or two like we're planning. We did pay good $$$ for the set. But at the same time I have gotten a LOT of use out it. I nursed our daughter for 18 months and still use it to put her down for naps and bedtime. It's comfortable I'm just disappointed with those two things (which I think the glider one is rather big for the cost). If the glider/chair maybe only cost about $150 I would accept the craftsmanship as is, but since it was [$] I expect more for that kind of money.

We purchased this rocker/glider for our son's nursery. We put it together last night and here are our initial thoughts.

Appearance: Beautiful. Interestingly, the color of the cushions seems more tan/brown in certain light and more green/sage in others.

Price: Definitely pricey. We chose the higher-end rocker for the bigger size and the richness of its appearance. Also, based upon how the other rocker/gliders held up in the store, we felt that the Dutalier line would be more sturdy - worth paying for potential longevity/durability.

Assembly: Turn the top half of the chair upside-down and attach the base with 4 screws. Piece of cake. It was harder to figure out how to put the cushions on, but once you find all the snaps on the frame, it's literally "a snap" to attach them.

Size: I am surprised that people complain about it being too wide...the dimensions are no surprise both in store and online. This chair is wider/larger than the other ones. That was a plus for us! Wider/larger means you need a little bit bigger space to plunk it into.

Quality: Too early to tell, honestly. The fabric and padding feel nice, but we'll see how it holds up in the months/years to come. For the price paid, I have high expectations. Honestly, the craftsmanship doesn't make it seem like a "lifetime" piece. The floor sample in the store was quite wobbly and unstable. I figured that was because hundreds of people/children jumped in and out of the chair over time and it was probably never tightened well. We don't plan to give our chair that kind of workout. It's not wobbly at all like that, at least not from the start.

Functionality: You can choose the range of recline using the little turny knob on the left. It's not a super smooth recline motion, but it works for sure. Beware, however, if you have the knob turned to allow for the greatest level of recline, the chair tips forward (the base actually leaves the floor) if you extend your legs. Not sure if this is an issue if you have an ottoman, but it really surprised us. We will not be reclining the seat all the way back in the future - it's more comfortable for us around the halfway point anyway. The lever on the right side allows you to easily lock the gliding/rocking feature.

I bought this chair due to my size being a bit bigger with large hips I couldn't fit into most gliders. This chair is so amazingly comfy and cleans up easily. The huge problem is a bolt in the chair that constantly is popping out causing the chair to grind and make noise and not glide smoothly. I replaced the bolt over 3 times. This company needs to take a second look at their work. So disappointed when I spent [$]for a set.

Love the size, smoothness of the glider, stretch of the recliner, fabric and amount of cushioning. I plan to use this glider to nurse my baby who will be here soon, but my husband and I are already making use of it in our living room. It fits well with all types of decor.

[...].Hubby & I have basic knowledge of putting furniture together and he was able to do it by himself within 10 minutes in our cramped bedroom. If he would have had more space, he prob would have done it even faster!Longest part of putting furniture together was putting on the cushions... which is not bad at all once you figure out where to snap buttons into place.Chair feels absolutely secure & comfortable. This glider also reclines which is a HUGE plus!!Reclining feature is easy to do and will not be a problem when the babies come along.Fabric is ultra soft and easy to clean.Matching nursing ottoman is a great compliment to this purchase. This chair is already being put into great use while I'm still pregnant. When I have prob sleeping on my side, I can just go over to the chair and rock myself to sleep in the reclined position.Love it!Love it!Love it!

We've had this glider for about 3 mo. and have really enjoyed it. It's sturdy construction, and comfortable for nursing, rocking baby, or just as a nice spot to relax. Good cushion, and fabric wipes clean easily. Have really enjoyed the recline feature as my nursling gets overwhelmed by my let down at times, and being able to lean back (comfortably) can really help her. Highly recommend. Really like it with the nursing ottoman too.

We've had this glider and the matching nursing ottoman for about 5 months. I'm so glad we decided to spend the $$ and get it. I was hesitant to spend so much, but a few friends who are parents urged us to go for it as we'd be spending so much time in it and they were right. It's generously sized so my 6' husband can use it (he couldn't fit in many other gliders). The arms are a bit wider and the back is taller than most. The reclining function is smooth & easy to use so the baby doesn't even notice. There was a while there I almost had to put sheets on it since I was spending almost every night in it! The microfiber has been easy to clean - baby has spit up on it a few times and it's come right off (even after it's dried...sorry, gross, but true) with just a baby wipe. It was easy to assemble and the gliding function is smooth. There seemed almost too much grease in the gliding function at first, but after a month or so, it was perfect. Our only complaint is that there's little lumbar support, but we bought a lumbar pillow and now it's perfect.
