Used for my youngest son when he was born,who is now 18 months. It is very sturdy and has a timeless look for all genders.Con: Having to take the footboard/front rail off every time you need to adjust the height as they grow is the main con for me.

This crib is so beautiful. I love it because it fits in with our personal tastes perfectly. Also- I was concerned with any crib (standing a Mear 5'1") that I would have problems getting my upper body to the corners. But the mattress spring is ajustable and its a little strech for me but easily over looked. My only complaint is that the manufacture put a warning sticker on the wood itself and although it came off- it left the goopy residue behind. Also I would be careful on your selection of bedding- the bedding we selected (the bumpers) do not line up accordingly- because the rails are so thick. All and All we really love it.

I got this as a gift at my baby shower. When I saw it i fell inlove with it. It is a large crib so it provides plenty of room for my son. It took my brother and I a little over an hour to put it together which seemed a little much as I had helped my best friend make her crib different brand and it only took me 20-30 minutes to do so. We struggled to get the bottom lined up as the holes for the screws were not lined up. So I have to go back every so often and retighten it as the movement of my son makes it that much loser. It also deffinatly can scratch so easily. My son wakes me up as soon as hes up and when I go in to get him hes bitting and it and its so quick to get damanged that way. I love the look of it and was so excited when we got it but if I had known how difficult it was to assemble and how poorly it stays together I would have saved my family the money and had gone with a cheaper crib.

We purchased this set a year ago and we love it. Our daughter too bit the railing (not that we wernt watching her but at some point you lay them down to sleep) but even with the little teeth marks its nothing that we cant fix with with some of that stuff that hides scratches in wood. We are getting ready to buy the conversion kit and look forward to this set growing with her. I would say it was a great investment and we couldnt be happier!

I know that other reviewers had concerns about the finish, but it's really nice on our unit. I'm wondering if there was a bad batch of these cribs made - our finish was consistent and gorgeous. And so far, no scratches or dents.

The only thing I would mention is that the installation instructions can be tricky. There are 3 height levels you can set the mattress to, and the instructions don't really walk you through that part - and the diagram makes it hard to tell which holes are which. But still, it didn't take very long at all for us to assemble, and it's super-sturdy. It feels like it's carved from one piece of wood.

Note that the conversion kits have to be purchased separately, and can add another few hundred dollars to the price.

I fell in love with this set when I saw it and we bought the crib, changing table and dresser for our daughter. It looks beautiful in her room. My biggest complaint was that, because of the flat back of the crib, you cannot tie on the bumper pads the whole way around. You have to end up shoving it down into the mattress to make it stay up. And after reading the other reviews, we too have a ton of scratches on the railing from her teeth. I wish I would have known about the guard too because that would have really been helpful!

This is a beautiful crib. As with all cribs, would highly recommend a teething guard to protect this crib. Per the manufacturer, they use a low toxicity finish which does scratch easier. The only scratches we developed were from not being proactive with the teething guard.

You need to special order the toddler and full size conversion rails if you desire them through babies r us only.

We also have the dresser which is fabulous!

Sure it does scratch easy, but what cherry/dark wood furniture doesn't? I guess nobody has hardwood floors in their house??!! I don't see how a child could chew the surface off the crib UNLESS there is a lack of parental supervision!!! Wonderful crib, my son loves it. Bought it over 1.5 yr ago.. Just got conversion kit. Looks great even with a few scratches.

Don't waste you money! This crib is attractive, but is poorly made. The finish is horrible and scratches. Your kid will probably chew it up anyway. Buy a cheap, safe, funtional crib (jenny lind). Then when your child is old enough get a 'big kid' bedroom set.
