Worst product EVER! I thought the easy bake oven was awful but this is worse. Gave it one star because it is really cute and maybe could be used for pretend play. Cupcakes would not cook. Put in the microwave for the 30 seconds and was still ooey, gooey, runny. Frosting would not mix up right either. Added tiny bit of extra water as suggested and was too runny. When you push down on the lever just leaves frosting in one glob. And then cupcake flew off spinning wheel and frosting got everywhere. My child would not eat it. She said the sprinkles tasted like medicine. DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM!

This was "THE" item my daughter wanted for Christmas last year when it came out. We used it the day after Christmas and then it got put away until last weekend, because I forgot why I put it out of sight. It was easy to do, we put it in the microwave and I walked away. I came back to the kitchen half a minute later to smell a god awful scent, and thought "that can't be the cupcake" after we made another I knew for sure IT WAS! She made 4 in all for each of us and insisted that was dessert for that evening, It was so horribly tasting you couldn't even force yourself to swallow the bite. As for the decorating appliance, GOOD LUCK with that. I had to slowly turn the bottom as my daughter pressed down on the bar in order to prevent it from piling in one big blob! This was the biggest waste of money. I don't even think I could give it away knowing how awful it tastes and is. My one star belongs to the concept, although this product really deserves no stars.

The one star is for cuteness...I bought this product for my 7 year old on her birthday. The bottom line: the cupcakes are disgusting!!! And the frosting doesnt't dispense as shown on the box. I am very disappointed and so is my little girl.

Cupcakes are terrible and the frostinng mix is a joke. Does not dispense as advertised. Very poor quality. My little girl was so disappointed in this gift. Will not buy any products from this brand. Easier and cheaper just to your own cake mix and some frosting in a can with the decorating tips.

GROSS! These cupcakes are the worst! Save your money and make cupcakes the old fashioned way. My 4 year old daughter only enjoyed icing the cupcakes. She would not eat them after the first try. As a matter of fact she no longer wants to eat cupcakes period. I think this has changed her outlook on cupcakes.

This product is realy fun. When I got to play with it it got all messy because of the iceing but the whole thing about it was bakeing creatively and creativity gets all messy but this is worth it for a kids smile

We got this product for my daughter for her 7th birthday. Paid [$], plus $6 for a refill pack. It was the only thing she wanted and she begged for it for months. When I bought it I didn't realize it required a microwave (I thought it was like an easy bake oven with a light bulb inside or something). We didn't have a microwave, but she wanted to make these cupcakes so bad we went and got a microwave. She ate her dinner and cleaned her room all so we could make them and when we put the "Baking Dish" with the cupcake in it in the microwave to bake it, it blew my microwave up. It had no problems before, or after if I put anything else in it. Then I tasted the cupcake and it's nasty. It shouldn't even be called a cupcake maker because YOU make the cupcake. The device just squirts a bit of frosting onto it. I have never written a review online EVER, but I am so upset by this I felt compelled to. I read other reviews that say the same thing happened to them. I am also calling the company tomorrow and plan on getting refunded for everything...including my microwave. I mean, what if a child uses this alone and the microwave blows up on them?

I got this for my confimation and this it was a great gift and tons of fun. The day I got it my cousin and I made to and finished them in 2 sec.,thats how yummy they are! I say buy this for you, your friend and everyone you know!

This is really not a bad product. The cakes are not great tasting, but not bad either. It's a microwaved cake, so it is not supposed to taste like a freshly baked cake from the oven. It is a toy. My 7 year old daughter enjoys using this and we really like that the cakes are gluten free (she has Celiac Disease). Everything is washable and the trick to using the icing part is to push down slowly on the arm.
