My son is a little over 6 months old and I wanted to start introducing him to water with his solids. Cue the endless search for some sort of sippy or straw cup that works. He's still figuring out how to hold things properly tilted so that he gets a drink. I wished there was something he could drink out of without having to hold it at a specific angle...then I came across this while at Babies R Us and knew I struck gold. The straw has a weighted bottom so it swings around with gravity to always point the end of the straw where the liquid is. GENIOUS! My son could sit, lay, relcine, whatever, and still be able to get a drink! The cup even comes with a straw cleaner. So far so good. He gets a few sips here and there but still prefers biting it instead, he's still learning. It doesn't even leak, but occasionally dribbles if he leaves liquid in the top part of the straw. The lid has a nice lock to keep the straw tucked away when not in use. With the price being way lower than literally every other weighted straw cup on the market, it's worth every penny. The only thing I can think of to change would be to have grippy handles. The handles included aren't very grippy or comfortable, just thin plastic. Same goes for the straw lock, it feels a bit loose. I can't speak to durability since we just got it, but it does feel a little flimsy.

There are some good things about this cup and some really frustrating parts as well. My daughter would give my granddaughter a sippy cup that you tilt up to drink from and I (who keeps her during the day) would give her straw cups because I read that the straw cups put the liquid further back in the mouth and not right up against the front teeth. So my granddaughter would try to tilt the straw cup up and not be able to get anything and become frustrated. The weighted part solves this problem. She now knows the difference since she is older. The most frustrating part is the puddle it leaves from the liquid coming back up out of the top of the straw. Don't know what the remedy is. To those that couldn't get any liquid out after sucking on it, it could be due to the plastic cover it has at the bottom of the weight (must remove). It isn't really noticable, unless you wash it first, as you should. Anyway, may not be the problem, but thought I would throw that out there.

Comments about Munchkin 1001332 Munchkin Click Lock 7 Ounce Weighted Straw Flexi Cup - Orange:
This cup was very hard for my 9 month child to drink from. The straw is too skinny and difficult to bring the liquid up.

Horrible. We have 3 of these cups and they all leak. I have had to put them in a ziplock bag while out & about. A waste of milk! Also, those little brushes that only come with the cup are gold, lose one and good luck cleaning the little straw.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

This is the only sippy cup my 11 month old loves to use and carry around.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
I've ordered two other cups in different colors, and they work great. This one doesn't have a breather hole like the others, and he finds it difficult to sip on and get liquid. It also turns past the click lock.
Cup works great easy to use. Son loves it
These are the only cups my daughter uses. I loved the weighted straw in them. I was actually able to wean my baby off of the bottle with these. The only con to these, are that sometimes they get too pressurized or something on the inside, and it forces the liquid to back up out of the straw and it can make a mess!

We bought two of these for my grandson and they both leak. They leak where the straw comes out from the cup and leak liquid out from the top of the straw. He is 2 now so he only uses these for milk and boy what a mess. Just storing them in the fridge they leave a puddle, it's not worth buying. Maybe if they were giving them away....

Impossible to use

The weighted straw concept is cool - it is impossible to get liquid through this straw. If you wonder why your child is struggling, give it a try yourself - surprisingly difficult for a child's cup.
best sippy cup ever!!
About Me First Time Parent
This is the best sippy cup ever. i tried other sippy cups from muchkin and tommee tippee but this is best one especially for first time for training my daughter. She is 6 months old and with this she is able to sip water in any direction. also she is able to hold it properly. the size and shape is knda perfect too.
Great cup but leaks some.
Love the weighted straw idea. My twin girls can easily drink out of them from any position. I bought 3 of them ( pink, orange and blue). I really like these cups. Issues: They leak where the straw comes out of the top. Also, leaks out of straw when pressure builds inside cup. I am constantly untwisting lid to releive the pressure. Kind of a pain. Sometimes when I open the cover the straw is full of milk (was not like that when i closed it) and it flings milk on me or others. I have not really found any that doesn't leak when used properly. By now, the baby world should have invented something. Hopefully we can move on to better bigger sippy cups soon.
