I have had purchased a diaper Genie, the first one broke, the second one broke again! That's it! I have had enough of this expensive pail with expensive refills that does not really contain the smell very well! I have to spray Lysol. Now both of my pails have broken their flaps. It's such a headache.... time to move on to another pail.

I love it! My daughter is due here sometime in the next month and we already have it set up. I used to baby sit my little cousin when he was a baby (9 years ago) and his diaper genie was harder to get the bags started but I had no problem with my new one. Light and easy to use.

Other than a mishap getting the sack cartridge set tight, this has been amaxing. the diaper never touches the plastic of the can, so the smell doesn't soak into the diaper pail, and changing the bag involves cutting it off and knotting it, so the whole bag does not have to be changed every time.

People told me great things about this product, but honestly I think is just OK! there was never any smell, however; it is a little difficult when twisting the bag with diaper inside. Sometimes it was even imposible to do it.

We bought this thinking it would be the best way to dispose of diapers. Don't get me wrong, it's easy to set up and easy to use. I just think it isn't as effective in managing the overpowering smell of dirty diapers. The cover doesn't seal and it often requires you to stick your hand down inside in order to get the older dirty diapers to move down to the bottom to allow room for more diapers. The built-in bag cutter is convenient, sharp, and easy to use. I do like that part of the design. When putting this together, I was also surprised at how the upper part does not exactly align with the base... kind of cheaply made as it would appear. I don't know how this design compares to the previous models, but you would think that with the word "ELITE" in the title that it would be the best. I'm not so sure. So far, it's just "okay" for me and my husband. Not sure if we'd recommend it. I guess I'd have to tell you to shop around and see if you can get your hands on the other models and brands before making a decision.

We recently moved in to a new home and decided that another diaper pal would come in handy since we have several levels. We had the Diaper Genie Essentials already but thought for our 2nd one we would try this model. I love that it has the foot pedal and you don't have to push the diapers though BUT that comes with a down side. Because you're not packing the diapers down when you push them through the slot you go through A LOT more bags. We have a 2 month old so we go through a lot of diapers and I feel like I need to change the bag every other day.

If I had to do it over I would just buy a 2nd Essentials model as opposed to getting a more expensive less effective model.
