I just washed these receiving blankets along with other baby clothes and items, big mistake!! I had lint everywhere and on everything! I had to shake everything out and use lint brush on several items especially the sheets. I had to finish drying the blankets seperate. They definately pilled ALOT the first time around. They are super soft but they are to small or odd shaped for swaddling. Will not buy again. Cute as long as you never wash them which is unlikely :)

We have lots of receiving blankets of different brands and we like these the least. They are small and after maybe 5 washes they are already worn looking and starting to pill. The size is a problem because it's difficult to swaddle the baby when its small - and our baby is not big! In fact he's probably only 9 lbs.

I have a few sets of these blankets in various colors. They work fine for everyday blankets, but not for swaddling - my son outgrew them in just a few weeks! The flannel shrank the first time I washed them, and now after many washes the fabric is pilled and bumpy. They shrank unevenly and now are not exactly square. The color is still fine, not too much fading. I basically just use them as large burp cloths and seat liners.

these are good sized receiving blankets, Carter's did not skimp on material. I originally registered for them because the print is very cute, but the quality is exceptional. They are super soft, as well, after washing.

I love these receiving blankets. My baby is a wiggle worm and the other receiving blankets that I've used were way too short/small to wrap her up in and her arms and feet would be all over. I love how these blankets are long enough to swaddle my baby in it (comfortably) and the elephant patterns are just too cute.

I LOVE these blankets! With us waiting to find out our baby's gender, I'm always pleased to see CUTE gender neutral patterns. Other reviews said that these don't wash up well, but I just did by following the care label which states to use the gentle cycle and tumble dry low, and they came out great.

These receiving blankets are wonderful. Warm and soft- they serve their purpose! And they're cute. I accidentally bleached one with the elephant design, but it didn't fade. Nor did it shrink weird like the cheaper ones we got from another store.

These blankets are nice. I got two packs before my son was born, and they're holding up well two months later. They pill a little when they are washed, but just seem to get softer with each laundering, so that's ok. They are perfect for covering baby while he's in his carseat, or protecting surfaces (my bed, the sofa) from spit up accidents while baby is lying down.

I wish these blankets were larger and square. The rectangular shape makes it difficult to swaddle, and my son was quickly too long (19-20 inches) to successfully wrap him in these and cover his feet.

I really love these blankets. They washed great for me and are very soft. They kept their shape well and are actually bigger than the animal print Carter's blankets even though they both say they are 30 x 30. I would highly recommend these - also, the pattern is absolutely adorable and definitely works for a girl or a boy.
