It looks like this particular diaper is not the cool sensation one. There are 2 different kinds, so be aware if you want it or not. Also, this diaper shouldn't get a low rating for the effectiveness of potty training. All brands of pull ups would get the same rating. I believe it's best to train with underwear and plastic pants, however, my son is not really at that stage yet and I don't have time to clean the couch and carpet every 30 min, so we are getting pull ups for a bit longer. I love huggies, so of course I went for these. I did try out 2 other brands as well and this is what I found. Price is pretty similar to most. The whole design fading is the same. It seemed to leak more than others, but my son does drink a lot (which will not help staying dry). The side velcro seemed to scratch my son more than the other brands I tried with the same. My son did love the 'Cars' though. Overall, not a bad diaper and I love huggies, but it would be my #2 choice.

This product does what it is supposed to do-keep your toddler dry, but allow the up and down like underwear. The other reviewers were not reviewing the actual product, just their potty training experiences. I use big boy underwear during the day and pull ups for naps and sleeping so my 3 yr old doesn't wet the bed. Since I have never put on a pull up, I don't know if the cool alert works like it is supposed to. My son thinks it is neat to make the designs on the front disappear and get the cool sensation, so who knows.

Do what works best for you. But if you want to keep your carseat and furniture dry, then pull ups are better than the other brand and easier to change. Best of luck!

My husband and I used this product with our 3 year old son. Prior to purchasing this product, our son was "ready" to complete potty training: he was able to tell us if he needed to potty and would go potty when we took him to the toilet, but he didn't always take the initiative to go potty when he needed to. In other words, he seemed to be relying on his diaper when he didn't want to stop playing.

We chose this product because we wanted to have the extra protection of diaper-like training pants, so accidents wouldn't stain furniture, etc. We thought he would view these Pull Ups like underwear, and thus would want to stay dry. We were wrong!

Our son continued to wet in his Pull Ups several times a day (would always go #2 in toilet, just as before). He did not seem to notice any cool feeling in the Pull Up in response to wetness. We tried using tangible rewards, but he still continued to wet in the Pull Ups. One day, I asked him about it, and he told me, "Mommy, I don't need to go to the toilet, because my Pull Up catches the pee pee". It became clear to us that he wasn't advancing in potty training because he was relying too heavily on the Pull Ups. The Pull Ups were absorbing the wetness, keeping our son dry, and not letting him experience any consequences for wetting his pants. We immediately bought him regular "big boy underwear", and after only a couple accidents, he started using the potty regularly right away! We were astounded. Based on our experience, it is our belief that Pull Ups can actually hold a toddler back from completing potty training in some cases. We plan on trying cloth training pants instead with our second child.

This product is intended to make your toddler aware of when he wets his pull up by giving off a cold sensation when he uses the restroom. Yea, not so much, it doesn't even phase my son. [...]Overall I think this product is a miss. Good idea, but even when I put water in the pull ups the cold didn't work.
