The best set EVER!!
First, I would like to share how awesomely it was priced. $24.99?? That's awesome! It has such great detail, and AMAZING minifigures! If you have $25, this is the set for you!
They finally have a good R2-D2!!! The Anakin is also really nice, but both sides of his face has the headset comlink on him. I love the cockpit because there's so much space inside but it wobbles around when it's open. The flaps on the wings are nice although I think there should be some Technic to open and close them so that when you set it down, they wont close. The shape is nice, but it should look better on the bottom. It's just a bunch of 1x4 plates that aren't even the right color. I like that they added some spring loaded missiles rather than flick missiles. I think that there is no need to ever make another flick missile again.

Good set nicely designed. Reasonably priced , great to display with iconic minifigures Anakin Skywalker and R2-D2.
Evolution of Jedi Interceptor
Similar to the V-Wing evolution, the Jedi Interceptor now feels a bit more sturdy/solid versus its original version. The one issue I have is the loose opening canopy over the cockpit. As much as the use of the Technic parts adds to the connections needed a more smoother and solid opening mechanism would have added to the model's stability. Still looks good on display so this is a minor item that can be fixed later on.
I enjoyed putting this set together. To be fair, I haven't put a set together in about 30 years and i'm just getting back into it with my daughter. She got a Friends set and I, of course, choose a Star Wars set and we built them together. I used to build all the old Space sets and that's where my Lego memories live. I was pleasantly surprised to feel the same excitement of putting a set together and flying my spaceship around the house! (my wife always always said I was her second child!) It is nice to see that Lego has stayed close to the fun of the flexibility of common pieces while still lending authenticity to the branded sets with some specialized pieces. This was a fun set to build and I enjoyed the play afterwards. More than anything, this was a great way to connect and spend time with my daughter. Thanks Lego!

this is a good set the technique to build the features is amazing I could not improve that but I wanted a better inside for the cockpit

Another interceptor for the collection
I got this set the other day with some extra money I had lying around. I wanted it since it was first released, but I had other priorities. Now that I have it, I regret not getting it sooner. While the design hasn't changed much since the 2012 design, it's changed drastically from the original 2005 version. Like most sets, what you see on the box is what you get. This one has no hidden features or weird builds at all, it's pretty straightforward. The features of the set are very similar to the last version, posable s-foils, cockpit, space for R2-D2 and missiles on the underside. Where this set changes is in the minor aspects of the build. Firstly, the Republic Emblum on the wing is now a sticker, and not the printed piece. Another small change is the fact that trans-blue discs are used instead of trans-blue studs for the rocket boosters. My least favourite change is the fact that the cockpit's windscreen is connected by a halfpin instead of an axel, so it spins freely instead of staying in place. On the subject of the cockpit, the piece has been re-designed and no longer has issues with clutch power. My least favourite part of the set is the new spring-loaded shooter. It sticks out from the underside like a Bantha in a herd of Dewbacks. When inserted, the green missiles ruin the overall look of the set. And, as stated in other reviews, they fire too easily. I've accidentally set it off when I built it, when I picked it up to look at it, when I put it down, when I moved it to the shelf, when I set it down on the shelf, and countless other times when I reloaded the missile that I just accidentally shot. So after 20 minutes of trying to keep them in place I just took them out and put them aside. Overall, the set is designed wonderfully, and I definately recommend it to anyone who is a fan of Star Wars.
from New Baltimore
This is an epic set from an epic movie, battle, and scene in Star Wars. I like the new minifigs and design of the set. I like the spring-loaded shooters and the opening cockpit with lightsaber storage. It is a very nice set for 223 pieces
New Artoo! And Annie too
Well, here it is. The set LEGO has had available in some color or other since 2005, but hasn't actually remade since then. With a few minor upgrades to the 9494 one, this wouldn't be much of an eye-catcher, buuuuuut..... R2-D2 has gotten an upgrade! Yep, The iconic droid finally has a redo. Now, I have been in mourning for Artoo since 2008, when he got that horrible grey-domed reboot, and even worse, that Clone Wars variant that noone liked. But this version not only looks great, but it is the most accurate version of him made yet. And he's in a $19.99 set! You need to get this set just for him..........yeah, yeah, you get it, Artoo is an epic fig. But I need to move on. ANAKIN SKYWALKER Anakin is one of Star Wars highlights, so I could rave about him, too. But this version isn't all that great. His pilot headset makes him no good for slicing up baddies, and his hair just does not fit him. The Aragorn hairpiece would seriously fit him so much better then that Clone Wars thing he's been packing for six years now. And his face is just too friendly for Anakin's character. That face says I'M A BRONY! not turmoiled, headstrong Jedi. Oh well. He's not a bad fig, just....not perfect. I mean, he only had that headset for about two minutes in the movie. But anyway, on to the ship. So, if you have the 9494, you know what to expect. Tough stickers, lightsaber storage, and silly flick-fire missiles....But wait a minute! Those flick missiles have been replaced by an all-new pressure launcher! Yes, flickers are no more it seems, as glowing green bolts of plastic now shoot forth from your build. They get good range, have better aiming ability then the missiles, and dont need a lot of effort to fire. These new launchers are much more high-tech and stylish then the missiles, but unfortunately, there is a downside. They have to be touched in the back to fire, which makes the ends stick out of the ship's rear. This isn't too bad, but it looks bad from certain angles. And the ship's landing gear consists of a completely hollow droid socket. This looks very awkward indeed from the front, and adds to the silliness of Artoo's legs hanging loose. (Yes that carried over from the 9494.) So in conclusion? The ship is obviously just a way to promote the new Artoo, and is not very original. But is much better looking then the original 2005 version, and while not the best Jedi Interceptor, is actually very good for people who do not have an Interceptor. And, yeah, it is totally worth it just for the NEW ARTOO!
