The Step 2 Creative Projects Table keeps all the supplies budding artists need to create a masterpiece at their fingertips. Storage compartments, removable cups, a built-in tray and a wooden shelf keep art and craft supplies organized. We purchased this for Christmas 2008 and my 2- and 4-year-old love it. It encourages their desire to be creative - they can initiate artwork on their own, without a grown-up having to get out crayons, markers, paper, etc. The overhead shelf is great as it keeps scissors, glue and paints out of reach of the little one, though a light underneath it would be beneficial to eliminate shadows (we will be putting one up). The storage is adequate (though never enough!) and keeps things handy. Clean-up is EXCELLENT for washable crayons, markers and paints. We struggle a little with "old-fashioned" crayons (which get quickly thrown away), but can even remove those marks with some elbow grease and a good cleaner (which hasn't harmed the desktop surface!)...after two months of heavy use, the artdesk still looks brand new. The primary color scheme would not be my first choice - maybe something more neutral that would help it blend into a room...but the funtionality way overrides that. The size is perfect - both girls will use it through at least age six, and the quality/durability is what you expect from Step 2 - HIGH. Best of all, BOTH girls can work together without fighting over seats, space, or having to take turns! Final note - would've been nice to see it in person first - but rest assured its a great buy!

This table is cute online but in person it wasn't made with quality materials and wasn't nearly large enough for an almost 5 year old girl. The stools are uncomfortable and very light plastic, the wood that supported the shelf was splintered and ended up breaking before use, and there is no way our daughter's knees would fit under the table. It is much smaller in person in regards to height. I liked the storage but she couldn't even spread out an art project if she wanted to.

        I love this table! My son can easily move around it and loves to use it in multiple ways (to build on, read books on, color/crafts). He loves to pull the cups out and rearrange them. It's a great table - I would buy it again. We did have to use a drill as well to put together, but not a big deal.

          I was very pleased with the project table. I was able to put it together myself. The parts were all there and the directions were OK. It was given to my granddaughter.           I bought this for my grand daughter to have at my house. I have her everyday and usually her art supplies were spread out all over my kitchen or dining room table.             We bought this table for our 20mo and 6 yr old kids. Both kids love this table! The little stools are very sturdy (they have even been using them around the house for other activities) and store neatly under the table when not being used. The table offers penty of storage with large bins on either side for books and paper. The best thing about this unit is the fact that each side can be assigned to a child so no one is fighting for space or arguing over whose items belong to whom.
