And to those who worry about the sketch pad running out: Ummm, yeah not that big of a problem. We started using plain paper after that. It's not rocket science.

I bought this for my daughter and although SHE loves it, I think it could be better. She loves to design but needs help tracing...could they have made the focus any less helpful? It does not focus well at all and you get an idea of where everything needs to be and you have to kindof guess and fudge it. Not helpful. Also the adjustment is very stiff when moving the actual projected image up and down and it sounds like the toy is breaking everytime you move it. Scary! My daughter is 6 and loves designing the clothes. Another complaint is that there are no replacement pads for the sketch books. We will make more at [...] or something, but they missed out on $$ with that oversight. Also, replacement bulbs for the projector? Anyone? I rate this toy high for the fact that child likes it but only give it a 3 based on value. In this day and age, is it really that tough to make a QUALITY toy so the parent feels they got something that will last after they spent the [$] on it??

          This is a horrible product. I bought the first one and it started to show three lights and would not project the image. My daughter only had it for 1 week. The second one, the battery compartment would not stay on. I returned them both. Would be a nice product if it worked.

          The first one I purchased we couldn't put the discs or slides in the top because there was a loose piece of plastic inside that prevented us from doing so. I figured it was a simple one time defect so I returned and re-purchased another one. Well, the second one had problems too. The top part that projects the image on the bottom part was loudly clicking when you raised and lowered it (it felt like it was going to break as if I was forcing it) and when you got it to the correct position to start tracing, it closed on you making the product impossible to use. I don't know yet if I will try a third one. My daughter was very disappointed.

          This product is just... wow. And I do mean WOW. Takes you a couple of times to get used to it but its works PERFECTLY. It seriously couldn't get ANY better than it already is. It comes with everything you need to get started and continue. It comes with: projector machine, 8 pencils (more like a mix of crayons and oil pastels, but also a pencil), 6 projector images with different categories such as "Tops" "Bottoms" "Skirts" "Footwear" "Accessories" and "Shirts", pencil sharper, 2 pads of paper with doll outlines in bright pink printed on them, sheet of plastic images with different articles of clothing on them, 2 projector slides to put the plastic images in and into the machine, storage area under tracing board, instructions, and a DVD on "How To Become A Fashion Designer Tips". The "Tops" category is more like long sleeves and jackets/vests with the "Shirts" being short sleeve, sleeveless, and one strapless. Some of the categories also have other things similar to that category in them, like one of the slides has bathing suits. This works PERFECTLY, and I do mean PERFECTLY. Since it has a storage area for everything, its also portable. Easy designs to trace and bright light with focus to make it easier. COMPLETELY 100% RECOMMEND TO EVERYONE.

                    it is very simple to use you have to just put the paper on the board and put either a picture or a tape in the slot above. Everything is great not one flaw ! the one thing that i was concerned about is on the design paper the mannequin was already drawn out it said that it will teach you how to draw a mannequin my child didnt even notice so she was amazed!
