My then 2 year old daughter got this kitchen set from her grandparents for Christmas two years ago. I was really excited about it because I have a girl and a boy, and the colors are neutral. Besides the kitchen set taking forever to assemble, I do not like the design. We got the Melissa and Doug Cookie set to play with this set. The cookie sheet does not fit neatly in the oven. It does fit eventually (lifting one side up on an angle) This is very hard to explain to a 2 year old. She kept having me do it for her because she would get very frustrated. Also, the door is hard to shut. My kids basically stopped playing with it after about a month. When they go to a friend's house they play with their sets. The angle on both the oven and under the sink is why I rated this a one star. Save yourself the headache. I am surprised that Melissa and Doug products are not compatible.

Yes, this does take some time to assemble, but is well made and sturdy. The classic design allows for lots of creative play. The only thing I found odd is that the oven door is hinged on the side instead of on the bottom. Bottom line: a great play kitchen. Both of my kids can use it at once and it doesn't take up too much room.

THis is a very beautiful pretend play kitchen. Dont listen when anyone say its hard to assemble. It is easy to assemble if you follow the instructions from page 1 to 16 in that order. It took me three hours to assemble it and I stopped on page 10 I will finish it later today and maybe thats why some think its difficult. I got it on sale and from what i was told its discontinued so please try to get it now. My daughter was so excited she started playing with the knobs and turning on the faucets. When I am done setting it up i would place a photo.

Bought this for my 2 yr old son... Love the colors (KU Fan) and is actually a kitchen set that is not pink since I have a son. This will be a GREAT kitchen for Many years of FUN..

I love Melissa & Doug products and will continue to buy them, however, this kitchen was made in CHINA! And it's not real wood. The kids love it and I'm happy with my purchase at the end of the day.

I knew months before christmas that I was going to buy my daughter her first kitchen. I researched all the pros and cons for various kitchens. She is two years old (however a very sturdy 2 year old) and I didn't want to buy something that wasn't going to hold up A.K.A take a beating. The reviews on this kitchen are correct. There is only one down side and that is ... It's time consuming to build. However, it is such a fun, great sized kitchen and excellent quality as expected from Melissa and Doug. The time doesn't even effect the actual rating for me. I was ready to spend $250.00 on a stove (stove being singular) from [...] for her; I am so glad I didn't. You can add what ever you want to this kitchen which is what I like. Play is suppose to be creative for toddlers. Buying one of those kitchens with every thing spelled out takes the fun out of it. My daughter loves to set her toaster and misc. items up on it and the other kitchens didn't allow for that. She has plenty of room for it to grow with her. Amazing, Amazing, Amazing. My daughter wanted this for our granddaughter who is 17 months old. She really loves it. It is just the right height for her too. It is not the easiest item I have ever put together- and I have done quite a few in my time. I would suggest that you have 3 people to help. Otherwise, we love it.

I bought this kitchen for my granddaughter and she absolutely loves it. She plays with it every day and cooks up a storm. I wish I had purchased some of the other stuff too so she would have more things in her kitchen.

My son is delighted with his new kitchen. He is two years old and this setup has enough features that he can learn how to play with it in new ways for several more years. It's a well-made product and although it takes time to put together, it's a sturdy design. I appreciate the small details, like the rounded corners on the cabinet and oven doors, so that little ones can't hurt themselves very badly. I would recommend this kitchen set to anyone, but especially those in search of a gender-neutral kitchen appropriate for boys who love to cook!
