My 4 year old daughter asked for a microphone with a stand for her birthday. We ended up purchasing a karaoke machine and then got this stand to use with it. It works perfectly - she loves it and her older brother (12) can also adjust it to his height and use with his Guitar Hero microphone. It was an inexpensive solution for what we needed and is easy to use for all ages.

First Act Microphone Stand

We bought two of these, one for each child. One went together with no problems and stays tightened where tightening/adjusting points are. The other one's top adjusting point does not tighten and moves with the slighest touch of the microphone. Because of this I think they are okay for kids playing karaoke at home but I would go with something more expensive and better quailty for pro. people and/or businesses.

In theory, a nice product. We got a new microphone for the kids for Christmas as our old karaoke machine one was broken, so I got this stand as well so they could be "rock stars". But the cheap construction and/or material means that the height adjustable knobs do not work, they won't grip like they are supposed to. So sitting at the very lowest possible level it can work, but even for my 3 year old that's a little low. I'm returning this and will look elsewhere for a replacement.

**JUNK - DO NOT BUY**

We bought this First Act microphone stand from Toyr-R-Us on Sunday 1/13/13. It was a birthday gift for my 8yr old niece to accompany her karaoke system. We even bought a cool scarf for the stand (to make it look super rock-n-rollerish like Steven Tyler). She opens it, loves it, wants to set it up on the spot. I...a mechanical engineer of 15yrs...set it up for her. THE TIGHTENING SCREW/KNOBS STRIPPED OUT THE VERY FIRST USE! =(

The tightening screw is a regular steel threaded screw, but the female threads are cheap molded plastic. Steel will beat plastic in every fight. DUMB, CHEAP DESIGN. I don't know why they couldn't have put a $.001 cheapy STEEL nut in there to keep it from stripping out like that. My niece was disappointed and immediately labeled the stand "broken" and wasn't happy.

THANKS A LOT FIRST ACT! YOUR PRODUCT IS JUNK! The stand didn't even survive SETUP, so I don't know how they expected it to last once the kids start playing with it. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY! EXPECT TO HAVE TO FIX WITH TAPE!

Poor quality

Upon taking it out of the box and setting it
Up for Xmas, a piece broke off that you were meant to tighten...a gentle touch and it broke off. The base won't stand up and tighten nor will the top part where the microphone sits, thus you can't adjust any part of it to the necessary height. I heard these products weren't that good. This didn't work straight out of the box. Disappointing.

The stand is very very very flimsy and the clip has a slit in it so if you move the microphone a little bit it will fall out. Get a stand from radioshack trust me

I bought this product for my children who LOVE to sing, ages 7 and 4. Very durable and the adjustable stand will fit both their heights for years to come. It looks very professional and glad I purchased it over a child's microphone stand. I just have to be careful as the screws to adjust the height can come off. This is only an issue if they are not screwed on tight enough for my 4 yr. old child.

Great with Guitar Hero

I got this stand so that I could sing and play guitar(hero) at the same time. The pre-teen kids love it and would much rather use it than hold the microphone. It feels flimsy, but I haven't had any problems.
