Saw this set at a parent/teacher supply store and my 3 year old and husband were engaged with the apple, plum, and orange. The banana was not on display. I like the magnetic feature as the pieces of fruit easily stay together during assembly. The banana is in three pieces and is not magnetized. The banana pieces do not easily fit together (Mom and Dad had trouble putting together and taking apart). The banana needs redesigned but we do not regret the purchase...one bad banana did not spoil the whole bowl in this case. Four good fruits.

The fruit was versatile and could be used in many different activities, such as role play, counting, sticking together and many more! They really helped early work in maths, such as the fruit fitting together to teach fractions. A very nice resource.

Great to use for number identification and size vocabulary (big, small, large...) I also use it for concept of one ("put one on"). My kids enjoy playing with this, but it also is made of thin plastic and shows wear quickly!

I thought this would be a great addition to my resources. And it really is cute, But I might have received a defective one. The plastic looks marred and misprinted. They are not that heavy duty either.

Comments about Learning Resources Smart Snacks Counting Fun Fruit Bowl:

I bought this for my son for Christmas when he was 18 months old. He loved it from the first moment he saw it. He's into a big sorting stage right now and loves smaller objects that can fit in his hands. All the trail mix pieces are a nice size, with the smallest being the M&M-like candies. He's never really tried to put the pieces in his mouth, however, I always watch and play with him when he plays with his trail mix. The pieces are made of very sturdy rubber-like material...not hollow plastic. He's now 20 months old and has found so many different ways to play with this set. He hasn't quite mastered the fine motor skill of stringing the trail mix onto the string, but he enjoys counting, sorting, matching, and sequencing with the pieces. The peanuts are his favorites and he'd carry them everywhere with him if we let him. He's even played with them in the bathtub. This was a great investment and I can see my son continuing to play with this for a long time to come. I'm tempted to buy a second set so he can have more pieces...especially peanuts!

I bought the Counting Fruit Bowl for my five year old daughter. She likes to pretend to cook and play in the kitchen and I thought this would interest her. She really enjoyed playing with it and it helped her to practice counting. It also seemed to help her with her Fine Motor Skills. I have recommended this product to several of my friends who have children of a similar age.

Comments about Learning Resources Smart Snacks Counting Fun Fruit Bowl:

The layer cake was a challenge for the children. It encouraged them to persevere and explore the sizes in order for them to place the cakes in the correct order and complete the task. It encouraged them to work together and help each other. The children also enjoyed counting the stars and discovering what number was written on the side. Some of the children had a different number of layers and were able to talk about who had the shortest and tallest cake towers.

We bought this while on vacation, and only quickly glanced at the packaging. My two-year-old daughter and I were pleasantly surprised, when the toy contained many more pieces than we thought! This toy is sturdy, and has many educational uses... from teaching fine motor lacing skills to matching shapes/patterns. My daughter actually played for an entire hour with this toy! We HIGHLY recommend it! Plus, the little lunch bag is really cute for easy clean-up.

I bought this for one of my niece's 2 1/2 year old twin boys. Of course they are too young to learn fractions but did enjoy taking them apart and putting back together. I wish there was a couple more pieces of fruit.

This toy is better than most pretend food. It has the counting features. Can also use to teach fractions. A baby could use to put in and take out of bowl. Older kids count and/or fractions.
