This classic retro style children's diner is filled with all the amenities of a real fifties diner. Its thematic features are what make this diner so much fun! Kitchen includes oven, grill, fryer and sink for cooking and cleaning. Patron side includes booth seating and table top juke box that plays 50's style tunes. Electronic service bell adds realism when kitchen orders are ready to serve. Accessories included are a coffee pot, griddle pan, dishes, silverware, cups, spatula, ice cream scoop, sundae dishes, deep fryer, and ketchup & mustard bottles. Encourages imaginative multi-child play. Special griddle pan and coffee pot activate electronic sizzling and bubbling sounds in stove's front burner. Detailed retro style tabletop features a tabletop jukebox that plays three 50s-style tunes. The two-sided design, including a kitchen on one side and booth-style seating on the other, is perfect for multi-child playtime for girls and boys.

We bought this for our younger daughter's 1st Birthday as she is always going into the real kitchen and pulling out all of my dishtowels and pots and pans from the drawers. She absolutely loves the thing and could spend HOURS playing with it, which you rarely find with a 1-year-old. She especialy enjoys the jukebox and sitting in the little booth with her sister. The added bonus is that my 8-year-old daugher enjoys it just as much and they have a great toy to share despite their age gap. I put it together myself while watching both of my kids and used only a screwdriver. It was a little difficult at first as there are no pre-drilled holes, but once I figured out to turn the screwdriver sideways and "tap" the screw a few times to puncture the plastic, it worked like a charm.

This is a cute set, but my version was missing the burner, the ringer bell, the jukebox and the faucet- all of the things that make noise and really accents the whole "diner" feel. We got it a few days before Christmas and as we were putting together before Christmas morning, it was extremely disappointing that it would be missing stuff, and couldn't get it before Christmas. The Step 2 folks were nice when I called. But overall, it took some of the thrill away as a parent.

I purchased this kitchen for my twin granddaughters. My craft room (their playroom) is done in 50s diner style. This matches perfectly with my decor. It is a perfect size. When not in use I can move it against the wall and it is unobtrusive. They love to play kitchen and already have enjoyed using all of the accessories. I would recommend this.

This is our second purchase from Step2 for our granchildren as their Christmas gift. The climbing wall last year required additional tools including a strap to pull it together close enough to secure the screws. This diner is, if anything worse. The seats do...not....go....in. Pry bar, hammer, no joy. We've nearly caved in the sides trying to get them to fit and be sturdy enough for the kids to use. And in the process, dinged up the front. I hope the decals cover it. I don't think we'll be purchasing from Step2 a third year.

Just received 50's diner today and my girls (age 3 & 18months) LOVE it. Put together in 25 minutes-with power drill. Very sturdy product with fun noise effects. Only compliant is oven door does not want to stay closed but I think some weather stripping will help take care of that. Overall very happy with product, too cute!

All five of my Grandchildren have played with this diner; eaten in the booth, cooked in the kitchen and served through the galley window. The sound affects are great and they still play with it: ages 14 mo.-7 yrs. easy to clean and looks as good as the day we bought it 7 years ago. Now that's a toy worth having!
