Comments about Young Scientists Club The Magic School Bus - A Journey into The Human Body:

My 5 year old grandson received this set for Christmas (when he was 4 1/2), and immediately wanted to start doing experiments. He is no doubt a little young for it; he needed help with all the experiments, and didn't necessarily understand the theories behind them. But for his age level, he got a lot out of the kit, and remembered it. We have finished all the experiments now, but he still pulls out one or another of them and wants to do it again. (The stethescope was a favorite.) This is not something to give to a young child for them to do on their own, though I think a 7 or 8 year old could do the experiments with a minimum of supervision. In general the experiments themselves are quite interesting--to the adult as well as the child--and the results are not necessarily predictable, which is nice. My only quibble with the set is the way the experiments are written. Each one claims to "prove" something, but when you do the experiment, its relationship to what it is supposed to prove may be thin. This doesn't bother my 5-year-old, but it bothered me.
