Stop the Search This is the Mattress

Please stop your search and trust the good reviews, I spent day and night looking online and in the stores for the perfect combination (comfort, firmness,and price) of a mattress. I did so much research on foam vs. coil. We had our newborn baby on a hand me down mattress that I thought he sunk into, come to find out it was only 80 coils! It was like placing him on a feather throw minus the suffocation. Ever since he was born we have had him in the crib placed in our room. I was so afraid of changing the mattress as he doesn't seem to complain and he slept well on it for naps and evenings. However in attempt to fix his acid reflux with natural approaches we resorted to a new mattress.
I purchased this mattress online and couldn't be happier! This mattress is firm, but gives enough for comfort. We purchased the mattress when he was 6 weeks, he is now going on 9 weeks. He is 24 1/2 inches long and 13 pounds 14 ounces, our large perfect baby and this mattress is great for support. He loves to play, squirm and sleep on this mattress. It also appears with the crib inclined and a firm mattress his reflux is sounding much better. The mattress is a perfect form and a tight fit compared to the rounded corners. The sheets fit very tight on them opposed to the rounded corners. (so tight that it leaves about an inch and a half of the mattress cover exposed.)
I can't say much for the toddler side but the infant side is perfect and hope that my little guy enjoys the toddler side as much as the infant side.

Most Helpful Critical Review

Loud mattress

I was excited to buy this mattress based on the reviews. I already had to return two Serta mattresses because they were too big to fit in the crib regardless of what the manufacturer's listed mattress size.

The DaVinci Emily II was almost exactly the manufacturer's listed size of 52x27.5x6. It fit perfectly in my Babi Italia Pinehurst crib (bought over a year ago. flawed interior design - the posts protrude into the interior area making mattress buying a real challenge). The infant side is nice and firm with a strong border wire. The toddler side is a little more plush and comfortable. The different sides are nicely marked although it is just a sticker and not sewn into the surface. The 260 coils make the surface even and you cannot feel the individual coils through the surface. A really great value for the money.

BUT...

The mattress has a loud crinkling sound of plastic underneath the surface. I would compare it to gently handling a plastic grocery bag between your hands. It was like this on both sides and even the gentlest touch with your fingertips would produce a crinkling plastic noise. I was surprised as no one in the reviews mentioned this. I really wanted to keep this product but I had to return it.

I have a 2 mo son and he has been sleeping good on this mattress. It is very sturdy and fits snug in our Regan 4-in-1 convertible crib. It has waterproof cover all the way around, no need to worry about the stains.

My only wish is that it has couple hanles of some sort. I know the regular mattresses (for adults) do not come with handles - and it is pain to handle them when you have to. But I need to take this mattresses in and out of the crib way more often than I do with our regular mattresses. So some sort of handles or easy to grab feature will be great.

I bought this mattress because it fits our crib perfectly and the price was very affordable. Our now 4 month old infant started sleeping in her crib at 2 months, so we have only been using it for 2 months and there is already a huge indent in the mattress where she sleeps. We have already turned the mattress around so that the "head" and "foot" parts are switched, and a new indent formed very quickly. How is the toddler side supposed to hold up well when the infant side can't even take the weight of a 10-15 pound infant for a couple of months? Sometimes my daughter rolls into the indent and ends up on her side... it can't be comfortable for her! At this rate, we will probably need to buy a new mattress soon! I do not recommend this one!

I was really pleased when I got the product. It fit perfectly in my Graco Lauren crib. I was afraid it was going to be heavy and bulky but it wasn't at all. I was pleasantly surprised. We ordered this and it came about four days later. It fits perfectly in our Delta Venetian Sleigh crib. I can definitely tell a difference between the firmness of the different sides, however, there is not that huge of a difference. But it might be enough to make a toddler more comfortable.

I don't think the mattress is too loud. We have a mattress pad and a fitted sheet on it and if you press against it and move your hands around, yes it does make a little noise, but so did some of the other mattresses we looked at. So I don't think it will be a big deal. However, I'm still pregnant so I don't know how our baby will like it.

I looked all over and this mattress has it all. A side for a infant, than later you are able to flip over and use for a toddler. Easy wipedown waterproof cover and it is Very comfortable. This is the second time I order this mattress now that baby number two is here. Bought on sale and free shipping. Worth every penny. Good Luck with the upcoming babies :)

This review isn't about the mattress, since I did not have a chance to actually receive the product. Rather, this is a review of the horrible customer service I received from Babies R Us. I ordered this bed twice online and both times, after I placed my order, I received a cancellation notice from BRU indicating that the bed is no longer in stock. Currently, the bed is in stock, according to this website, but when it comes to order fulfillment, the bed is out of stock. This has been incredibly frustrating for me; if I order an in-stock product, I expect to receive the product. Calling BRU was no help. BRU's website is not helpful and I will be taking my business elsewhere- I don't need the aggravation. BRU- get a better inventory control system!

i bought this for my daughter who's now 9 months old today, and it's great! i bought it for the davinci reagan crib, i was worried it wouldn't work well but it's a perfect fit! the difference in 'firmness' from one side compared to the other isn't too obvious, but she still uses the 'firm' side and it's good enough. when she attempts to crawl but falls, it doesn't seem to hurt only support her. a great bonus is the liquid resistance, because it's covered with that special material, my daughter's already spilled formula and juice and all i did was change the sheet and didn't have to worry about the mattress itself just a wipe with damp cloth and it's done and wasn't difficult to remove/change sheets because it's not too heavy in weight. great buy!
