I love this thermometer. It made it through 2 kids before we had to replace the batteries (which I never did because my husband ended up buying a digital ear thermometer once our kids outgrew needing rear end temp readings). I never really used the oral or arm attachments because I felt they were not very accurate on an infant. However I never had any issues with the rear end thermometer readings. I plan on buying a new one for our next little one on the way.

I have had no issue with this product. It works every time. It only reads error when my infant would wiggle and then the product would wiggle.

The batteries are sold in an electronics store and were easy to change.

Love the product. It was really easy to use and it was quick. We got accurate readings and it was small & compact making it easy to pack in a bag when we traveled.

Only problem.... the batteries don't last and I can't find replacements.

Where do I begin? Waste of $....didnt work after awhile. Searched high & low for batteries, which I finally found online & ordered a pack. Replaced the battery & still didnt work!! Now stuck with all these specific special batteries that I dont need! Not worth the purchase :(

This thermometer is terrible. We picked it out because it seemed like a thermometer that could grow with our child. My baby is five months old and I'm already shopping for a new thermometer because this one makes me nervous. We loved the idea of the changing tips but the temp is incredibly inaccurate. We've used both the bottom and mouth attachments (orally on ourselves and rectally on the baby). If you take the temp multiple times in a row you'll receive a different temp every time, sometimes ranging 2-3 degrees. That can be the difference between needing to rush baby to the hospital or not. I would have given this 0 stars if it let me.

My husband went to four stores (two drug stores, two grocery stores with pharmacies) to find a replacement battery for this thermometer and couldn't. Not what you want to experience when your little one is running a fever. I'm very disappointed with Safety 1st for making a product that uses an impossible to find battery.

This thermometer is horrible. Our son is 5 months old and we have needed to use it a few times. We have tried the rect*l and the under arm and both give very low readings all the time (92, 94). I usually have to make my husband put the thing under his arm to compare. Tonight we had to use it and the thing kept turning off and I finally decided i'm done with it!! Will be going to get a quality product tomorrow. What a waste of money.

I read the reviews on this thermometer after I registered and received it for my baby shower. It worked fine at first and thought, why are these reviewers complaining about the battery? That's no big deal!

Until it was Hurricane Sandy and my child was burning up. The first few times I used it, the blue background was so bright I couldn't see the temperature. When the blue background went off I could see it just fine. Then the beeping started acting weird and nothing appeared when the light went off. Then nothing happened at all. So my husband drove out at the beginning of the hurricane to buy a regular ol' thermometer that specified appropriate for tush use. Since my husband works with watch batteries, we'll probably replace the battery on this one. But keep our regular one handy for when this one decides it has an error virtually everytime we try to use it. Baby isn't so patient when I'm poking things up her bum multiple times.

I purchased this thermometer with high hopes, as it would work for a variety of reasons: bootie-inserted (it wouldn't let me put re*tal), underarm and oral thermometer. I have owned it for less than 6 months and used it exactly one time. I went to use it last week when my son had a fever and the thermometer wouldn't even turn on. I emailed their customer service and was told that because I lost my receipt, and that the date of manufacture was 2010, that it was "out of warranty" and that I should buy another battery. I think that a product's battery-included should actually work for more than one use. I will NEVER purchase another Safety 1st product again.
