Not sure how I feel about this product yet. Has anyone else experienced difficulty viewing the membrane? I feel like the light needs to be brighter. I am getting a great view of hair and earwax.

In general the product does what it needs to without ruching a child to the doctor everytime they touch/ play with their ears.
The view window could benefit from either being larger (since it's not medical quality magnifier) or having a better quality magnifier.
The handle is a bit bulky being ergonomically efficient.
Nothing can top a doctor's battery powered otoscope, but for regular parents we can do it and avoid the extra visit costs.

I bought this because my daughter has had several ear infections and I thought it might save us some trips to the doctor. Unfortunately, I think this product is pretty worthless unless you really know what you're looking for (IE: you've been to nursing school or med school). I tried it several times and never could see my daughter's eardrum.

I tried to use it on my 4 month old, but I couldn't find her little eardrum. All it would illuminate and magnify was the hair. I'm hoping that it'll work better when she's a little older and her ears are a little bigger.

Bought for my son who has had problems in the past with ear infections/PE tubes. Tubes are gone, but a recent infection made me get this item. Worked perfectly. I kept tract of the fluid before/during/after infection. I make him do it himself (he is 10) and every other day takes a reading to keep on top of things. I am glad we have it.
