After breastfeeding my son for six weeks, I decided to switch to formula due to his gassiness on my milk. I tried three other types of formula (Enfamil Gentlease, Similac Sensitive, Similac Soy) but this was the only formula that didn't make him constipated. I couldn't handle seeing him in pain all day long, so I finally tried Similac Advance because it supposedly softened stools. It definitely did just that. My son now has bowel movements regularly and I wish I would have gone with this formula all along. Will use this for all of my other children, and will recommend to all moms!

When breastfeeding didn't go as planned the hospital gave us this formula to supplement. Being home now we continue to use it. So far so good...Aiden seems to tolerate it well, I find it mixes well & is easy to use. I have a zero spit up problem & dirty diapers are consistent :) And I like the fact that it contains Lutein which is found in breastmilk. I figure if I can't breastfeed this time then I want the closest thing possible for my baby. So we'll see how it goes in the future :)

Not for our baby boy. It causes bad constipation, gas, and staining on clothing (and more spit ups??) We don't like to feed the baby with instant noodles (baby formula), but we had to do so when his breastmilk-jaundice lingered for 3 weeks. Then we tried this Similac formula, which caused a list of problems. Then we tried Gerber Good Start, and we have been very pleased with it and will go back to it after the breastfeeding period.

This was the formula my daughter had in the hospital with no issues so we just stuck with it after we came home. My daughter has never gotten gassy or spit up with this formula. At one point we received a free can of Enfamil and thought we'd try it out. My poor daughter vomited all over the place. Not just spit up but truly vomited the entire bottle back up. Thought maybe it was just the switch so I tried the Enfamil a couple more times with the same issue. The Similac has been great for us but each child is different. I also don't have issues with the formula being foamy. May be the bottles I use or the fact that I do make sure to shake the bottle side to side and not up & down as recommended on the packaging.I actually found the Sensitive Similac to be more foamy. Also make sure not to pack down the formula in the scoop. Too much formula in the bottle is what causes the clumps. If you're getting clumps, try using a little less. We are set on only using this formula bc it agrees with my daughter so for us it has been wonderful. Also some ppl said they noticed a fishy smell which I have not noticed. I find that formula has an almost sweet taste which may be why my daughter loves it!

We LOVE this formula. My daughter started on this in the hospital and never had a single problem. At one point we tried the Enfamil Newborn formula and she literally threw up the entire bottle! We even tried the store brand equivalent to Similac and that didn't work for her either. We will not be buying any other formula as Similac is the best for my daughter.

I was sent home from the hospital with this formula to supplement my breast milk. My milk supply soon stopped and I was stuck with this formula. My baby constantly was fussy and grunting in pain from gas. I switched.

My baby was breastfed until I went back to working full time. We started similac because they send you free samples and tons of 5 dollar checks when you sign up at similac's website. This formula gave my baby terrible gas. It is difficult to mix up always chunks of powder in bottle, also very foamy when you mix it. It did seem more like breast milk as she had the same kind of stools. We switched to soy due to blood in her stools and gas. Similac soy smells terrible and she did not like it, she would spit it out. The soy formula also very foamy when mixed and hard to mix up it was like it was grainy. We have switched to emfamil prosobee and no problems now. Similac just did not work for us, but they give great coupons and samples.

I had an unexpected visit to ER about a month after I gave birth and was exclusively breastfeeding however, the meds I was prescribed were not good for the baby so I was told to "pump & dump" for 48 hours and give baby formula in the meantime. Luckily I had a container of this at home which I received in the mail for free. I was a little reluctant to give it to the baby since I didn't know if it was the best formula to use but he digested it well and I did not have any problems with spit-up, constipation or gas. I am not giving my baby both breastmilk and formula and have ONLY been using this one w/o problems.
