Big, soft and cute

I just bought this, and the "Animal Planet Baby Dino Playset - I'm Hungry" set (Item 156881, SKU A0D41124, UPC 754046830397) at the store as Christmas gifts for both my two-and-a-half year old niece and nephew (same age, different families). I have not actually given them to the kiddos yet but I am very excited to do so! These are soft, flexible, hollow plastic dinosaurs that are not scary. Their smiling faces have a cartoon-like quality that is endearing. Even the T-Rex is smiling as he shows his teeth. I imagine kids older than 4 or 5 will want something more realistic-looking, but these are just right for my little "Land Before Time" and "Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs" fans. The dinos are just the right size for toddler hands (the box says for ages 3+).

I think it's great that there are not holes in the bottoms so if these are used as tub toys they will float and water won't get inside. Also, these are soft so if they get used to bop baby brother on the head it won't hurt as much as the other 'hard' plastic dinos I've seen.

Dinosaurs appear to have their names imprinted in the plastic on their tummies, which saves Mom and Dad from having to memorize the Encyclopedia of Dinosaurs.

It looks to me like the "Animal Planet Baby Dino Playset - I'm Hungry" pack has dinos that are smaller versions of some of the 'Adult' dinos in the "Animal Planet Playset - Large Baby Dinosaurs"; your child can play Mommy and Baby if you buy both sets. From what I can tell (I have not removed items from box so can't see names, and am not a dino expert), the "Large Baby Dinosaurs" set includes 1. ankylosaurus, 2. triceratops, 3. (green) tyrannosaurus, 4. what looks like a smaller green tyrannosaurus, 5. spinosaurus, 6. stegosaurus, 7. unidentified toothed dinosaur similar to t-rex but brown and smaller, 8. apatosaurus-like dinosaur with bony ridges over eyes, 9. pterodactyl, 10. palm tree, 11. pond, and 12. nest with hatching egg. The smaller "I'm Hungry" set seems to include 1. ankylosaurus, 2. triceratops, 3. tyrannosaurus, 4. apatosaurus-like dinosaur, 5. dimetrodon, and 6. tree.

I bought these 3 years ago for my 3 year old, and she loved them. Now my 2 year old plays with them. They can be held easily, and hold up well. They are a great introduction of dinos to your little ones. I rated a 3 because the price has probably gone up [$] since I bought them, and seems a bit high for small plastic toys.

My 4-year old daughter loves this set! She enjoys the Land Before Time movies and these dinosaurs have that same "Cute" factor to them. They are big and sturdy and she loves the little pond and next of eggs that came with it. She plays with them in the tub. Highly recommended!

We bought this as a Christmas present for our son who is 2 1/2. The dinosaurs are much bigger than expected! They look like they are going to be very durable! I think he will really enjoy this gift! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I haven't actually seen him play with it yet! Looks like a wonderful toy for a dinosaur lover!

These are so cute and perfect for my dinosaur crazy two year old. They are very durable and will last through his little brother, too! the only complaint I have is you can see some glue around the palm tree that makes it look cheap. But the rest of the set doesn't look this way at all!

I got these for my sons 3rd birthday even though he hadn't shown any interest in dinosaurs previous to the purchase. That changed immediately - he is now dinosaur crazy! These toys are sturdy and include all the well known dinos. They accompany him in the tub and now every day to the beach. Best of all, they don't have holes and therefore don't take on water. A great purchase!

These dinosaurs are bigger than we thought they were going to be and our sons LOVE them. We thought they were going to be little 1-2 in. figures but they are huge. They are soft but very durable and are great for our boys to play make believe with (even a battle or two). They have "friendly" faces, not scary like a lot of other dinosaurs figures. They have had so much fun with them. Definitely worth the money! Best price I have seen for a set like this. I have already recommended them to friends.
