For any mom out there that is committed to giving your little prince/princess breastmilk, and is considering buying a breastpump for occasional or exclusive use, don't even consider any other pump...this is it!

I'm a busy, first-time Mommy who is juggling work and Mommyhood. To make matters more complicated our little princess was born two months premature, never learned how to breastfeed properly, and so I exclusively pump 24/7. We purchased the Medela Pump-In-Style Advanced to start with, which was a great pump, but a little cumbersome to be considered highly portable and you're tied to an outlet much of the time. I also used a hospital grade pump for awhile, the Medela Symphony, also a great pump, but again portability and convenience was a problem.

We went with the Medela Freestyle a few months after bringing her home, and boy am I a happy Momma! I think this pump is really one of the only reasons she is still getting breastmilk at 8-9 months of age and is a healthy, bouncing, 19+ lb beauty baby. I would have burned out on the constant pumping otherwise, but the Freestyle makes is so easy. I can literally pump at work - type on the computer, file, whatever. I can do laundry, dishes, take care of her (change diapers, play, feed her solids, etc.), get dressed and do my hair, makeup, etc., not skip a beat when we're out and about as a family as I can pump in the car...literally you can pump just about anywhere doing just about anything.

The battery holds a charge for a very long time (1-2 full days and nights with no charging necessary), so charging is not a concern. It's relatively quiet (more so when on a soft surface or covered with something soft like a pillow or blanket), so it won't disturb your co-workers or wake up your little one if you need to pump and you're trying to get them to nap. It'll perform beautifully every time even for exclusive pumping like I use it for (8+ pumping sessions in 24 hrs). It's light and extremely portable and easy to take with you everywhere. It's very comfortable, easy to use, and performance is excellent as far as amount of milk I am able to pump in 10-20 minutes (usually 30+ oz. in a 24 hr period).

My only complaint is that if you lean over and the milk collection bottles are too full (like during my 1st morning pumping session), the milk will leak out very easily. However, compared to everything else, I'm still giving it five stars and would highly, highly recommend this pump to any Mom out there.

This pump is especially great for those who are down to the option of pumping or switching to formula for medical, personal, or other reasons. If current pumping methods are not working for you, burning you out, etc. try this pump, and I would be willing to bet you the result will be a happy Momma and a happy baby that is still able to get the best...Mommmy's milk. It's worth the extra money, trust me!

I have 3 kids. My youngest is 4 months old. With my other 2 kids, i primarily pumped, not breastfed, my kids and always used the pump in style advanced. I got so much milk ,i donated 200 bags filled with 6 ounces of frozen milk with my 2nd baby. So, I know alot about pumping. I decided to buy a new pump with my 3rd baby, as the pump in style bag was getting old looking and i was curious to try the freestyle. After 4 months, i am not at all satisfied. If the pump is not fastened just right, it leaks from the connection into the bottle. THe plastic pieces have to be lined up perfectly, or the pump has less suction. And the suction... arggh... it takes me 35 minutes to pump what took me 8 minutes with the pump in style. I have to single pump so get a decent suction. it is very loud and sounds like a dying cow mooing. And FORgET about the hands free contraption! What a joke. I feel like a monkey is hanging offf my breasts. How the heck are bottles that fill with 9 ounces each supposed to stay strapped onto my bra! IMPOSSIBLE. and it takes 5 minutes to set up to the bra straps, and they always falls off! THe only good advantage to this is the fact that it is small and the battery life lasts... but again, the suction is too little for me. [...] So, please, don't waste your money. You will get less milk from this machine compared to the pump in style advanced. THe "HANDS FREE" part is a not all it is chalked up to be.

Comments about Medela Freestyle Hands-Free Double Electric Breast Pump:

Save yourself some cash and get the Pump-in-style advanced. I bought this as a splurge so that i had the freedom to get something done around the house while i pumped since i was pretty much exclusively pumping. BIG MISTAKE. the "hands-free" contraption is a joke. It takes just as long to get that attached and set up as it does to pump, and that is providing it doesnt come undone and spill precious milk everywhere (had that happen twice). the suction leaves a lot to be desired. i bought this when my son was just over 2 months old. at the time i was using the medela advanced double from my insurance company, but since it has to be plugged in, i wanted the freestyle for more portability. with the advanced double i was pumping enough to feed my son and put 3-5oz/day in the freezer. after 2 weeks solely using the freestyle, my supply had diminished so much that we were burning through my pitiful freezer stash and most pumping sessions didnt even yield enough for a single bottle-even first thing in the morning. usually i was able to pump enough for 1 feed each time. after a month we had burned through my freezer stash and were forced to supplement with formula because i couldnt make enough. just out of curiosity, i decided to bring my advanced double back out and start using that again. my daily output was more than it was with the freestyle. finally after 2 weeks back with the advanced double, i was able to get my supply back up enough that we were able to almost completely cut out the formula and go back to 100% breastmilk. if i could return the freestyle and get my money back, i would-especially given the price tag on it-and just get a battery pack and car charger for my other medela pump. but since i cant return it, ill save it for when i need to pump away from home and cant be guaranteed to have access to an outlet. the portability, the fact that the pump body is easier to clean than the connector, and the fact that it doesnt use the little white membranes that have to be replaced frequently are the ONLY redeemable qualities of this pump.

I recently started back to work and this pump has been my saving grace! I love that it is compact and rechargeable. The suction remains strong even to the last bit of battery life and it is easy to clean the parts. I just wish the bag that came with it was cuter.

I got this pump to go back to work and pump while my daughter is at day care. I wanted it to be easy so I can work still and pump. I have used it a few times before going back to work and love it. Love the hands free option so you can get more done. The different speeds help you to customize it to yourself and you can store those settings in the memory. It is easy to clean and put back together. I would totally recommend this product and babies r us has the best price.

This breast pump is the first ive ever owned and I honestly wouldn't choose any other. This pump is fast, easy to use, easy to clean, and very easy to transport. I love how easily its used and how easy it is to clean. The only thing that I would say negative about this pump is that the cord isn't very long so to sit on my couch and pump I have to use an extension cord.

Comments about Medela Freestyle Hands-Free Double Electric Breast Pump:

First of all, i know it is the most expansive milk pump, but it will be totally worth it. After give birth to your baby, you are exhausted, and the baby will get up every 2-4 hrs no matter how tired you are and you need to feed him/her. Free style can free your both hands, you might can even take a nap during pumping!
Secondly, both sides pumping at the same time will reduce leaking problem. Also the noise is not too loud, baby wont wake up because of that.
Finally, the pump is gentle but powerful. You will totally get what you paid for.
One last thing, Toysrsu might have discounts once every 3 month, dont but a milk pump too early, keep an eye on discounts. I got it for $299, i think the original price is around $359.

Comments about Medela Freestyle Hands-Free Double Electric Breast Pump:

I have been using this pump for 8 months now and I hate it. There is a rubber part that holds everything together and it gets folded, etc. It takes me several times to get things to work and typically results in spills, etc. As you can't return it I am stuck with it but at work it causes way more frustration than the actual pumping effort itself. I will likely buy a new pump for future children. Also, the bra straps which are supposed to make it "freestyle" are terrible and flimsy.

I'm not totally in love with this pump.the straps that hook to your bra are not meant for big breasted weman. I opted for heads free so I didn't have to sit the and hold it for 20-30 and th.at's exactly what I have to do. Now I'm going to have to buy the boostia for another $40 after spending over $300. I could have got the least expensive and the top for the same price. On top of that it doesn't pump hard enough. It takes 30 mins to get if I'm lucky 6oz. Most of the time I use my manual pump. Not happy at all!!!!
