We use this as a supplement while breastfeeding. It doesn't give my son has or cause any tummy troubles like other formulas can. I received single serve packets of this as a trial and I love the ease of tossing them in the diaper bag to use when out and about. I was disappointed when. Scoured the Internet and my local stores with no avail. At this point we don't supplement enough to justify buying a large tub that will have to be thrown out after a month. Hopefully they will start selling the individual packages soon!

I was supplementing my breastfed infant with Enfamil Supplemental because I started it after receiving free samples. I should have looked at the ingredients first. I want to feed my baby healthy nourishment, not products made with a primary ingredient that I, myself, try to avoid. What a shame that Enfamil is a leader in the industry, promoting the start to unhealthy eating by supplying corn syrup products to parents to feed to their babies!

Life Saver for toddlers with allergies!
from Gainesville, FL
About Me Grandparent
Comments about Mead Johnson Enfamil Nutramigen Hypoallergenic Infant & Toddler Powder Formula with Iron - 12.6 Ounces:
Our granddaughter had immediate reaction to breast milk and was diagnosed with allergy to soy and dairy. She was put on one of the non-dairy formulas such as Nutramigen, Neocate, etc. We tried all of them and finally chose Nutramigen newborn/infant because the baby did much better with it. Although she still had gas, it was very minimal and painless (she would wake up screaming with pain due to gas before Nutramigen.) As she turned 1 years old and on food, we turned to organic foods and non-dairy cheeses (daiya brand was excellent, couldn't tell the difference from milk cheese. For pasta we cooked gluten, dairy free pasta (such as rice pasta, Tinkyada Brown brand is excellent, could not tell the difference.) We also switched her from Nutramigen infant to Nutramigen Toddler (up to 3 years old). She loves it. The only problem is that we can't get her off the Nutramigen Toddler, she loves the taste. She will be 3 years old in a few months and doing great! Nutramigen Toddler was a life saver as well. We had tried the other non-dairy milks such as almond, rice, coconut, etc but she hated the taste. Then we saw that Nutramigen had 'toddler' version and we were thrilled. Her tolerance of dairy has become better so we are introducing her to regular foods slowly such as cheese. She still can't tolerate milk so we are continuing the Nutramigen Toddler until she is 3 years old. Thank you Enfamil for creating a great product and helping parents better deal with children with dairy allergies.

Excellent product, hard to find.

About Me First Time Parent
This is an excellent product that our baby transitioned to very easily. She was about 6 months and ready to start supplementing with formula in addition to Breast milk. She didn't skip a beat. It's a versatile product we can mix with Breast milk or go 100% formula with for a bottle. Cereals don't mix as well though and the product is very hard to find. Our Target can go weeks without carrying it (out of stock)

About Me Parent of Two or More Children
I like that this product is recommended for breast feeding moms. My baby transitioned from enfamil NB to enfamil supplementing easily. When comparing the nutrition labels of enfamil infant and supplementing, I noticed this product is sweeter and easier for an infant to digest much like breastmilk. I am able to give 2 oz of breast milk and 2oz of formula, just formula or just breast milk with no problems. My one complaint is you have to vigorously shake the formula to mix, otherwise I have had clumps stick to the bottle. Now when I stop breastfeeding, can I still use this product exclusively?

Didn't work for my baby girl
from Watauga, TX
I tried supplement with this formula after my baby girl lost a little bit of weight. She is two months and we got the formula from her pediatrician's office to try, we used the little ready bottles. I only gave two bottles to her (in 24 hours, because I was just trying to supplement my bf) and was terrible she spent the night screaming in so much pain, she never did that before, she had so much gas. I regret given that to her, I feel really guilty. This was yesterday and this morning she is still fussy and feeling a little, although she is a little better after she was able to poop a little of the formula out already.

Very happy with this product for supplementing!
from New Jersey
I bought this product after attempting to supplement breastfeeding with the normal infant powder formula. That product gave my 4 week old son terrible gas and tummy aches. Upon finding this at Babies r us, I didn't really know what the difference was but tried it because I had used up all my samples of the other formula I had. It is much easier for him to digest and he seems to be okay with the taste. It doesn't stain his clothes and he spits up a lot less. I am very disappointed that they do not make single serve on the go packets of this product because I hate packing up that giant tub when I just need to take a short trip out of the house and prefer to give him a bottle . Please make the single serve packets!!!!

I highly reccomend this formula!!!

My son has been on Nutramigen since he was 2 months due to his milk allergy, gas and fussiness . Once my son switched to nutramigen, like many have said "he was a completely different and happy baby" . Now he is 12 months and I started him on nutramigen 2 for toddlers, he loves it! And I noticed this formula isn't as strong smelling as the first formula. Hope it helps some moms !
Overall Mixed Feelings
from Shreveport, La
I came across this product in my local store. I was under the impression that the formula would be compatible with me nursing. i would give m daughter a bottle after nursing and noticed she would be extremely gassy and fussy. She would bow backwards and scream in pain. Although she is not constipated, she released serious amounts of gas and spit up. I discontinued to use this product and no more gas, backwards bowing and the spit up is at a minimal. Being that there is not a smaller size, I'm out almost $30.

We chose this product from recommendation from our pediatrician as my milk supply started to decrease slightly upon returning to work. It is thin consistency like breast milk, more than most I have seen, however our son will not touch it. He dislikes the taste so much he ends up spitting out more than he eats. Bummer, we were excited about this product!

Bought this as my 6 week old was still hungry after nursing. She has horrible gas from this formula that she didn't have before. Looking at what else I can try to supplement with.
Would not recommend
I tried this product for my second son, I was very excited to find a "supplamenting" formula but when we tried it my son got very gassy fussy and kept spitting it out i thought he just didn't want the bottle but I tried the newborn formula and he did just fine with that and since you can't find it in a small can I just wasted about $30 .......
