This realistic Tonka Mighty Motorized Front-Loading Garbage Truck in blue from Funrise Toys has all the cool features of the real thing, including a front power arm for up/down motion. Sturdy Tonka construction and incredible detail are combined in one great vehicle that includes realistic lights and sound, manual features, freewheeling capabilities, and accessories.

Did you know that "Tonka" means "great" in Sioux? It's no surprise considering just how long this great, reliable brand of toy trucks has been around! In 1947, the first Tonka brand toy trucks were actually designed and manufactured by the Mound Metalcraft Company, a small garden toll manufacturer operating from a small schoolhouse basement in Minnesota. In their first year of operation, a staff of only a half dozen people produced a total of 37,000 metal trucks with two designs. This inventory sold out in just a few months as many post-World War II families quickly accepted this new toy. As a result, in 1949, the first Tonka dump truck was introduced launching the first generation of the Tonka brand's family tree. Today, the Tonka brand upholds the same premise it was found on: a toy should be durable and provide the child with as much play value possible.

    We got this for my 4 year-old son for Christmas. He LOVED it. . .until the "crusher" inside it broke a week after he got it. He's so disappointed, and so am I. I had high hopes for this toy since it was his favorite Christmas present this year. :(

      Great trash truck with mobile lifting arm, My son will play with this for hours!!! Constucted very well. We cut up cardboard into little pieces and use it as trash.

        My 3 year old son was THRILLED to get this for Christmas and didn't let it out of his sight all day. I would have happily given this 5 stars if it weren't for the fact the garbage truck/belt attachment broke. I attempted to contact Funrise's customer service and they were so unhelpful and gave me NO assistance whatsoever. HUGE fail on their part.

        Motorized belt to lift garbage can broke witin a hour on both trucks. Very dissapointing.

        Kids had fun pushing the trucks around and putting items in the back.

          The gtrash bin came off in as few minutes and the lift was broken beyond repair. Did not laqst for part of the day. For Tonka history very poorly made.
