We switched to these bottles when we went from breastfeeding to bottle-feeding and out daughter loved them. She is now 10 months and has since the switched preferred to sit-up to eat so the angle design helps keep the nipple full of milk! And since the switch she has had no ear infections. We use the wide nipples because they closer resemble the shape of a nipple (since a breastfeed baby is used to pulling the whole nipple in their mouth) and haven't had any problems with leakage. As with all bottles you have to cover the nipple when shaking or you will have milk everywhere. And also you have to remove the bottom vent and wash it with each cleaning. Kaylie has even learned to hold the bottle herself since it is wide. We are currently expecting our second child and I will be purchasing some more!

I, too, purchased the "older" model of this bottle while pregnant and how I wish now I could find a few more like it. The membrane in the bottom of the older model Ventaire is easier to wash. Both models seem to leak a little but I didn't think much of it since it was always water which I attributed to being trapped between the bottm ring and the interior membrane. What a pain that the numbers come right off in the wash!! I hand wash my bottles and have made two purchases of this newer model thinking surely I had gotten a dud. No luck! I had the same result - phantom numbers!! I am trying to avoid mixing in a secondary container- just seems like a hassle. I pretty much just guesstimate the level of water and add powder from there. Also, my daugher just had her 1st birthday and is just now getting her first tooth so I figure the bottle stage is approaching an end. I think it's become a personal mission to find THE VENTAIRE of my liking at this point but I would really like to have at least one spare so I'm not continuously coveting the one bottle I use. P.S. found an older model ventaire in a salvage store still in the packaging only to get it home and the interior membrane was missing! Gaaa!!!

Great for decreasing gas/colic

About Me First Time Parent
I use this bottle for my newborn- great nipple design to avoid nipple confusion. Minimal gas- 1 or 2 burps and done. Great for paced bottle feeding. I have not had leaking issues. Would definitely recommend.

When it was time to find bottles for daycare, I wasn't sure what to do. I had been using the Medela bottles that I used for pumping, but it seemed like my baby would get pretty bad gas pains and trapped gas afterwards. I wanted to try something but wanted it to be an easy transition so that he would still breastfeed when at home. Tried these out and haven't had a need to switch. Haven't had any problems with leaking; the parts are super easy to wash and dry; gas problems haven't been an issue--but I'm not sure if that is due to him getting older or if the bottles are helping with that too. Great slow/wide nipple and my husband also commented on how much more comfortable they are to hold than the Medela bottles.
These are amazing!
I originally used the Nuk bottles at first, but my son spit up alot with those, so a friend recommended these to me & they work amazingly! My son didnt spit up half as much!

Have been trying all different bottles, love these the best! Especially compared to Tommee Tippee, Born Free and Similac. My 1 month old daughter does'nt spit up as much and burps easily.

I cant emphasize just how good these bottles are and what they have done for my newborn. my baby has suffered from horrible colic due to endless gas pains and bloated as well as hiccups. We were using the playtex dropins originally and giveing him both gas drops and gripe water to help calm him down but nothing worked. So I switched to the ventaire and WOW what a difference! Now instead of 12 burps per 3oz formula feed, he only burps maybe twice and not bloating or pain or crying. He is a new baby. Wish I had used these bottles from the beginning! I not had ANY leaking issues, just make sure to clean each part separate and dry them also and the bottle will not leak.
Do not buy

Do not buy these bottles unless you enjoy losing milk all over yourself, your baby, and everything in between.I purchased these bottles specifically for the Natural Shape nipples. My son has physical limitations that make breastfeeding difficult. I alternate nursing and pumping/bottle feeding. I wanted the natural shape nipple to avoid "nipple confusion" until his physical limitations are corrected via surgery and we can breastfeed exclusively. His latch just does not transfer milk successfully, tho he still does nurse frequently, he just doesn't receive enough milk.I love the nipple shape of these bottles, my son does very well going back and forth between my breasts and the bottles, HOWEVER... these bottles leak like crazy. The silicone which covers the bottom vents does not quite overlap the rim of the threads enough and it easily mis-aligns through over tightening or just simple handling after it is attached. There is no leaking through the vents, just around the rim. This has caused us to lose countless, precious ounces of breast milk time and time again. As a single mom, I need a bottle that I can put together one-handed at 3 am with my infant in the other arm and not have to worry about it leaking. That is not this bottle.Great nipple, poor design otherwise. I wish I could get my money back, but we already used them.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
great for breast feeding baby
By maine mom
Our breast-fed daughter does so well we these bottles and the slow flow nipple. Other bottles were too fast, causing her to gulp down milk. The venting through the bottom of the bottle makes for less gas and easier burping as well. The parts are easy to disassemble and clean as well.

Have been using these bottles since day 1 with my 8 week old. Never had any problems with leaking. Very easy to clean/put together. Great bottles.
Will be using these with baby #2

My husband and I bought these bottles for our first child because all of the infants I had babysat for used them. We love everything about these bottles! The shape of them made it easy for us to hold and as our baby got older, it became easy for her to hold them as well. I've noticed on some reviews that people don't like that the bottle has five pieces to it (Nipple, nipple ring, bottle, membrane, bottle bottom), but I love that I can wash and sterilize every little nook and cranny. A lot of people have left reviews saying that these bottles leak. We've never had them leak, however, if the bottle parts aren't completely dry when you assemble it, then water will drip from where the bottle bottom and bottle connect. I breastfed for the first couple months and later switched to formula. I think the fact that this brand has two different size nipples is awesome. For the first 3 weeks we used the small nipple and then found that the bigger nipple resembled nursing so she took better to that one. We are expecting our second child and I've been doing research and looking at bottles that our friends use and we decided we're going to use Playtex Ventaire again.
