When my baby wouldn't stop spitting up, fussing and being overall cranky and gassy after feedings with another wide neck brand bottle, I gave in and purchased this standard size 4oz. 3 pack. Well, as much as I didn't want to deal with the extra vent parts to clean, I'm glad I have these! Now that the gassiness and fussiness are a thing of the past, I can look forward to and relish the time I have after bottle feedings. Happy baby, happy mama.

As another poster stated, these bottles are not difficult to clean, they just take an extra minute or so since there are two pieces to the venting system to clean. I simply soak the extra pieces in soapy water for a while, then rinse well and use the little brush that comes with the package of bottles if I need to.
That being said, these bottles are a life saver; I used them with my first and he never had gas or spit-up. With my second, I used Born Free, but it gave her horrible gas so I switched to Dr. Brown's and she was a new baby. ( I did go back to Born Free when she was over 6 months old and they worked fine for her by then). Dr. Brown's are a wonderful bottle for newborns!

I first tried tommee tippee because it was suppose to be the most similar to breastfeeding. However he had difficulties because of the flow of the nipple. The slow flow nipples were too fast. He fought the bottle because of it and I needed to find a solution since I was going back to work. He usually nurses for 40 mins and he was finishing the bottle in 10 mins. He never seemed satisfied after the bottle either. So I tried Dr Brown with the preemie flow nipples (the slowest flow nipple I can find). That has worked for us. He can now handle the flow and the bottle now takes 25 to 30 mins, more similar to nursing. I highly recommend these if you are breastfeeding and need to bottle feed while at work! Yes more parts to clean with the Dr Brown but worth it! He also had less gas with these!

Ok so I do like Dr. Brown bottles and will use them again for the next baby. I do believe that they reduce the gas and help to reduce the amount of air a baby takes in while eating and I can even deal with all the parts that go into using this bottle. With that being said my 1 issue with this bottle is that if you do not screw the lid on correctly and I mean if it is off just a hair that bottle will leak like crazy. It is annoying and sticky (formula). Thing is you could swear you have it on right and then you go to feed and there is formula every where. BOO!!

But if you can master the lid they are great!

Switched to Dr Browns after my baby had bad gas problems and these have definitely helped but they leak BAD! I hate it! I have had more spills in my diaper bag and when I shake them when making a bottle formula always comes out the top (even with the cap on). I have gotten used to it and I only have been using the 4oz size. I would definitely not use them if they weren't working so well for my baby.

These bottles do not reduce gas. Made gas worse for my newborn. Everytime I use these bottles, he gets fussier.

These are the only bottles I use for my son. He is now six weeks, we do not experience any issues with spit up or gas and burping is very easy.

I see some people rated these hard to clean, this is not true. There are just extra parts to this bottle so its more tedious than the average. But, not difficult. Soap water and a sponge do it for me.

My only complaints are the nipple is a bit fast. My newborn can eat 6 oz in 30 mins. Which would be faster if not for taking burp breaks.

Also, the bottle has a line that says do not fill above this line to prevent leakage. Well I feed my son powder formula. Fill the bottle to 4 oz with water, add 2 scoops of powder and the bottle goes above the line. So if your formula feeding and the mixture is too thick for your child there isn't any room to add to the recipe. I suspect this is why most experience leakage. The 8oz bottle solves this problem only till your child is ready to consume 8 oz.

We use these bottles when I pump extra breast milk. We've used them since week 1, baby is 2.5 months old now. Flow is great, does not get air bubbles, great venting. There are 4-5 parts but once you pay attention once to setting up, it's a no brainer after that. We are very happy with the overall use of bottles. Only have had them leak if they get upside down for long periods of time in cooler bag.

I have a 13day old son who I pump and bottle feed, we started out with medela bottles and thought he was doing well on them until he started getting very very gassy, we then switched to the playtex dropins because that was what i had at home and he was a little better on the playtex but made a mess with the wide nipples, yesterday i went and bought the dr. browns bottles we are 15 hours in and he is eating 1-2 ounces more at a feeding and sleeping very peacefuly and 4-4.5 hours at a time where he was wanting to eat almost every hour more i think because he was so uncomfortable with the other bottles and he was nursing for comfort. so far i cant say a negative about them because i have a whole new baby! loving life right at the moment!
