I think the carseat is average but not worth the money. As others say it is a bit heavy, but not that much heavier than others. We use it with the Bob stroller and that works well. It is also hot and my baby used to get sweaty in it in the summer. My son is 6 months old and about to outgrow this in length (we are average height but my son is in the 90th percentile for length for some reason). I am now looking at convertable seats and they seem much more comfortable and have better features. For example, the Britax Marathon that we are buying has velcro on the sides so you don't have to hold the seat belt out of the way while you try and get the baby in. As they get bigger and you have to loosen the seatbelt all the way to get them out, it gets very difficult to grab the strap to tighten it again because it goes too far down. In retrospect I would have bought a cheaper infant seat and switched to a convertable seat sooner.

Looks great but is so heavy that I do not look forward to going out of the house without my husband. I consider myself to be pretty strong but this carseat is so heavy and bulky it hurts my back. I wanted it because it orked with the Stokke but I didn't realize how much the weight of the carseat would effect my daily life. U can't just run into a store quickly carrying this one. My friend has it too, we both wish we had bought something else. My baby girl sweats in the seat, the handle is difficult to adjust, not to mention the loud click wakes her up, and hard to fit through my SUV doorway...

We use this car seat every day. It is a great car seat, except it is heavy to lug around. We bought it because we felt it was 1 of the safest on the market. I wouldnt buy any other carseat.

This car seat is one of the most highly safety rated car seats on the market. I understand it is heavy and slightly bulky, but compared to the cheaper car seats out there it is not flimsy...and let's face it...most baby-related items are bulky, that's just how it will be when you have children. It is extremely durable and in the event of a car accident durable is what you want when it comes to your precious cargo. It exceeds the highest side impact protection standards and it shows just by looking at it. It does have a couple of minor inconveniences; the sun shade has either up or down, but it doesn't seem useful to just put it half way so really that's not a deal breaker for me. The fabric is gorgeous and cleans nicely, but yes it is a little bit of work to take it all apart and machine wash it and put it back together. However, if it were so easy to put back together it seems to me it would be easy to fall apart. I will take a few inconveniences over an unsafe car seat any day and while it is "stylish" I chose to pay the price for the important parts that a lot of other car seats don't have. The most common complaint I am reading is regarding its weight. Do you walk through a park or store carrying it? No, you attach it to a stroller or set it in a shopping cart. All car seats have to meet standards to be sold on the shelves at the store, but this one exceeds all safety standards. There are websites that compare weights and specs of all infant seats so if you're complaining about the weight and calling it a poor car seat you should have done your homework if that is what really matters to you. I would buy this car seat again!

I purchased this carseat for my 1 month old because he did not like the graco snugride. We have had no problems with it. It's great it tranfers into our valco tri mode twin stroller easily. The base is easy to put in as well just takes a couple of minutes. However this carseat does not fit on shopping carts, but that's no big deal for us. My son is a large size baby now he's almost 8 moths old ans weighs 24 lbs and he still has room to grow. This carseat is heavy to carry and not for walking around without a stroller but it seems really safe and my son loves being in it. I would recommmed this carseat if you don't mind carrying a heavy carseat.

I hate this car seat! The bottom buckle is NOT user friendly (why the weird two step alignment? You should be able to buckle it in in one step like every other car seat out there- STUPID and useless!) and all of the release buttons require the strength of Hercules to release. If your baby doesn't cry or squirm, this may not be a problem. The carrier is way too heavy like just about every other reviewer has confirmed. I'm furious that I spent over [$] for this piece of junk- it takes twice as long to get your baby secure and in and out of the car than the Graco. Don't waste your money, all you're paying for is the name and 'status'.

I bought this product because of the safety rating it received and it went along with the stroller I bought as well. Although the seat wasn't a good fit (I had to push the passenger seat all the way up to a point where no one could fit in the front of my truck) and I had to buy a cushioned headrest to keep his head from flapping to the side, I thought, at first, that it was a good seat. That is until my son got a little bigger. He's 4 months now, and I can hardly carry him in this thing. He sweats profusely in it, and starts screaming if he's in there for more the 15 minutes, because he's all scrunched up. This seat is definitely not worth the money, and very overrated.

My son has already outgrown the car seat in two months. The seat belts don't adjust pass a certain length: It was squeezing him at two months, 16lbs. The head rest fits him in an awkward way. The padding in the seating is insufficient. Not worth the cost. I've replaced it already.

We expected the Peg Perego to be top-of-the-line but were disappointed with the quality of the craftsmanship - in particluar with the cover. The seams where the belts go in and out were not finish- sewn or even edged properly and are fraying and falling apart. The seams that are sewn are even pulling apart too! The hood is not useful as it really doesn't extend far enough to cover the baby from sun or wind. The top of the seat cushion (by the head) always pops off the plastic seat and has to be constantly pulled back on. A snap or two to secure it down would have been nice. Overall quality for price is not at all what we would expect. Not impressed.

Great seat! My son stayed in the 75% and fit wonderfully in this seat, until it was time to move to a convertible seat. It is heavy, but ALL good infant car seats are. I will definatly use this brand for the next child!
