Wonderful Classroom Resource!

By teacher22

Comments about K'NEX Education - Exploring Machines:

My school bought 2 of these great kits to incorporate into our 5th grade simple machines unit. I have been SO pleased with the increased student engagement, and great questions that have come out of our building. There are options to build a variety of levers, wheels and axles, screws, wedges, and more! There are plenty of parts that I can have 7 groups of students working on different builds simultaneously, and have not ran out of parts! From beginner to expert, my students jumped right in, and worked to follow the visual directions. My students are already asking when we get to build with K'NEX again!

My Grandson loves it! Hours of enjoyment.

We bought Exploring machines for my Grandson this holiday season and he has spent hours building, designing and creating little magical machines. I am not sure who is enjoying this more; Grandma seeing the creations or Thomas entertaining the entire family!! (:

Over 1,500 kid k'nex. Must have 4 kids

By Kingz

Comments about K'NEX Education - Exploring Machines:

We own every kids k'next set iv seen, and then some. Stop counting once we passed 1500 parts. My kids 4(boy)5 (girl)and 6(girl) year old love them. At the age three they could follow the instructions on their own and build what was in front of them. Now they come up with some crazzy things on their own. Like 3' building, giant windmills, trucks with trailers attached. Bridges. The only down side is the lack of different parts. It would be nice to have a few gears for them. Some cross fitting parts to go in 3 dim just like the normal k'nex. Maybe a chain type and a sleeve one too. These sets are awesome and your kids will want more and more to build bigger and better. Just wish their was more option in parts since even at age 4 my kids are needing some of the option that are in the normal k'nex but are not ready for the small pieces and the supper tight parts of the normal ones. These sets help develop mechanical ability. I'm a mechanical engineer and I wish I had these too when I was growing up. Really it took me 20 min to build a working limited slip differential to show the kids how one works.

Great Mother Son Project with smaller hands

Comments about K'NEX Education - Exploring Machines:

My son (4 years old) and I have a great time working together on this "older" set of K'nex. We read the instructions together as a pre-reading activity where he tells me the order of the pieces and their names. We take turns attempting the instructions and seeing if what we come up with matches the description. It's a longer process but my son loves the activity and the results and I love the time I spend with him.

Hours and hours of fun!

Comments about K'NEX Education - Exploring Machines:

I bought this set for my son for Christmas this year and he loves it! We spend hours upon hours together building with this set. He has so much fun creating his own designs. There is no reason to follow instructions (as my 3 yr old says!) I love how all K'Nex products help children explore their creative side. They have a chance to explore their imagination and create anything that their little minds can think of. I look forward to purchasing him many more kits throughout the years!

Awesome Interactive Models!!!

Comments about K'NEX Education - Exploring Machines:

I received an exploring machines kit through our Science department at school that was just sitting in a cabinet and it was brand new. I teach 6th grade Math & Science and this kit is amazing. We will be studying Simple Machines in a few weeks and I took home the kit to check it out. I put together the hammer, screwdriver, archimedes screw, and am now working on the elevator. My niece, a 2nd grader loved it so much, she asked me to bring it back so she could make her own version of an elevator. I really like how well constructed and strong the pieces are and  when they are all connected together how life like the end products are and that they really work. It's very cool.  I know my students will really like to work on putting together these simple machines. I am just trying to figure out if there are enough pieces for  9 small groups to work on them. I need to get at least one more set, if not two. If I win the contest, I will be using it to buy another exploring machines set for my classroom.       I think it's definitely worth the money and anyone will learn from making the many items listed. Hours of strategic fun. Not for the faint of heart.

Super toys for busy boys!

By Cindy13

from Big Timber, MT

Comments about K'NEX Education - Exploring Machines:

I bought the transportation set when my boys were 2 and 3. They have spent endless hours constructing all the models the shown as well as using their imaginations! They are 5 and 6 now and still love K'nex. I feel great about spending money on a toy they love, can't break, is educational, and shows their imagination! I would definitely buy this product again.
